Something people outside of Hollywood don’t realize is that a lot of child stars are friends with other child stars from their age group. Many of them are up for the same roles, so they get to know one another and commiserate with each other at auditions. They have a bond that lasts until adulthood and beyond. Therefore, when one of them sadly passes away, it brings them together.
Yesterday, Cathy Silvers from Happy Days invited Erin Murphy aka Tabitha Stephens from Bewitched and Susan Olsen form The Brady Bunch over to talk about their friend Erin Moran, who passed away from 4th stage lung cancer at the age of 56 on Saturday. The three actresses grew up Moran behind the camera, so they lost a dear friend from their youth. For Silvers not only did she lose a friend off camera but one that also played her best friend on Happy Days. For Murphy, she lost someone with the same first name and first initial of her last name. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were sometimes confused for the other one during auditions. Finally, for Olsen it is someone who also knows what it is like the play the youngest child to a big family on TV. Besides all of that, it is someone who knows what they went through growing up in the public eye. Like I said, it is an unbreakable bond.
When it comes to three actresses, who ages range from 52-55, they all look phenomenal. You know, I hope some network sees them together and thinks we should give them a show together like The Golden Girls or Designing Women or Hot In Cleveland. Could you imagine awesome that would be? I would watch! I can totally see Pop TV having with it like they are with Return of the Mac and Hollwyood Darlings! It would be a hit and maybe they can get Alison Arngrim to join in on the fun.

I don’t know if you heard, but Family Ties is getting the stage musical treatment this Summer according to Broadway.com. The production will make its debut this June in Ohio, Dayton not Columbus like the ’80s sitcom, but having it in the same state is still pretty groovy.
Talking about groovy, what can make it even groovier? How about Eve Plumb, best known for playing Jan Brady on The Brady Bunch, is playing the matriarch Elyse Keaton. The role that was originated by Meredith Baxter. Proving everything in Hollywood is related, I think!

Today is Ron Howard’s 63rd birthday and his wife Cheryl made him a little surprise for it. He said his “all-time favorite Graham Crackers with White Icing like my Mom used to make.” By the looks of Opie Cunningham’s face with his birthday hat, he is loving every minute of it!
In fact, even though he is two years away from becoming a senior citizen, he still looks just like he did when he was Opie Taylor and Richie Cunnigham. Well, he didn’t have a beard back then but you know what I meant.

Days after announcing on Facebook that he will be retiring from touring later this year and an awful concert, David Cassidy reveals that he is suffering from Dementia.
The former teen idol made the revelation after he was accused of being drunk during Saturday’s show when he forgot the lyrics to some of his most famous songs. He told People, “I was in denial, but a part of me always knew this was coming,” because he watched both his grandfather and mother die from the dreadful disease that cause memory loss and more. He recalled what his mother went through at the end, “The only way I knew she recognized me is with one single tear that would drop from her eye every time I walked into the room…I feared I would end up that way.”
Instead of being negative about his diagnosis, the 66 year old still wants to enjoy life. Hopefully, he will get to do just that because he has brought so much joy to his fans for over 50 years.
It’s Monday and we all need something to cheer us up! How about Alan Alda trying to do a cartwheel at 80 years young? While it didn’t go over well, it is the best thing he has done since M*A*S*H! So good, no matter how many times you watch it, it brings a huge smile to your face. Just like M*A*S*H, no matter how many times you watch it, it never gets old.
And talking about old, Alda proves no matter how old you get, you are never too old to be a big kid!
