The Great North goes six feet south
October 4th, 2025 under Fox, Will Forte. [ Comments: none ]

Does it seem like animated shows on Fox never get cancelled? Well, not anymore. The Great North has aired its final episode.

Aimee Steinberger, who directed a few of the episodes, broke the news: “Sadly we got the news today that The Great North is officially cancelled. I’m pretty sad about it. It’s one of a very small number of shows I’ve worked on that I genuinely loved and I really loved the whole talented crew I worked with. I feel lucky to have been there.

“In a world of cynical and mean shows, The Great North was not that. The family loves and supports each other. I want to work on more shows like that. Either blood or found family.”

The Great North aired for five seasons, with the final one airing over the summer. Because of that, it is Fox’s lowest-rated scripted show, according to TVLine.

The news is not that surprising. Not only were the ratings south, but Fox also picked up American Dad, so something had to go, and everything else was picked up.

Kim Kardashian gets a Paris Pixie
October 4th, 2025 under The Kardashians. [ Comments: none ]

Kim Kardashian has changed up her hair throughout the years. However, she has never done anything as drastic as her newest haircut. The influencer went really short with a pixie cut.

Is it a wig or did she really do it? Only time will tell. But then again. If she loves it, she cut it that short. If she hates it, then she will wear a wig until it is long enough to put in extensions.

Do you think her new hairstyle is as pretty as pixie dust?

Baskin-Robbins gets into the pizza business…sort of
October 3rd, 2025 under Baskin-Robbins, Fast Food. [ Comments: none ]

It is Halloween season, so most food chains are adding pumpkin spice items to their menus. However, Baskin-Robbins is rebelling against the flavor this holiday season.

Instead, they went with Galactic Brownie, which is brownie batter ice cream swirled with gooey chocolate icing, studded with chewy brownie pieces, and rainbow chips.

You can order it in the traditional cup, a cone, or a milkshake. But if you want something different than that, you can get the Galactic Brownie Polar Pizza. It is a sliceable dessert with a double fudge brownie crust, topped with Galactic Brownie ice cream, M&M’S® Milk Chocolate Candies*, a decadent fudge drizzle, and festive Halloween sprinkles.

“October is all about fun flavors and festive moments,” said Nicole Boutwell, Vice President of Brand Marketing & Culinary at Baskin-Robbins. “With Galactic Brownie and the Galactic Brownie Polar Pizza, we’re giving guests an imaginative, next-level way to make every Halloween moment even more memorable – whether they’re indulging solo or celebrating together.”

I do not know about you, but that looks so good, I want to keep it all to myself.

Both the ice cream and the pizza are only available until Halloween.

Eric Dane reveals why he missed the Emmys
October 3rd, 2025 under Eric Dane. [ Comments: none ]

Earlier this week, Eric Dane and I Am ALS spoke to Congress and asked them to extend federal funding for the Accelerating Access for Critical Therapies for ALS Act, which is set to expire next September.

The actor was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease in 2024, and it is quickly taking over his body. Therefore, the continuation of research funding is important to him. Thus, he is the ideal person to persuade Congress to continue supporting the funds.

However, that decision is on hold due to the government shutdown.

While Dane was in Washington, D.C., he spoke with The Washington Post. They asked him why he was a last-minute no-show at the Emmys last month.

He had a good excuse. He lost his balance in the kitchen and cut his head open. “ALS is a nasty disease. … So I was in the hospital during the Emmys getting stitches put in my head,” Dane told the newspaper. “I missed an opportunity I was really looking forward to. It would have been great to see Jesse and get reunited with some of my peers, and to be able to present in front of my colleagues I thought would have a been special moment. So I was really upset about it, but you know, there was nothing I could do about it.”

Hopefully, he will be around and able to make up for his absence at next year’s Emmys.

ALS is an awful disease. I pray that Congress listens to him and will continue to fund the research, so that this way doctors can come up with medicines that slow the progression and perhaps even develop a cure. If no one ever has to go through it again, that would be a significant medical breakthrough.
