Luke Bryan was slipping and sliding during his show!

Over the weekend, Luke Bryan was performing at the Riverhead Music Center in Cincinnati, and something unexpected happened. Something that made me wonder if not only was he singing One Margarita, Two Margarita, Three Margarita, Shot, but if he also drank that much before he went on stage?

Why? That is because part of the stage was slippery (not with KY Jelly as he suggested), and he slid all over it. And like the Energizer Bunny, he kept going and going.

In fact, he had so much fun, he decided to dance and sing to James Brown’s I Feel Good, Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk, and Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean in that spot. Good thing he didn’t do the Tom Cruise from Risky Business because he would’ve crashed harder than a bad singer auditioning on American Idol.

Even though he didn’t fall, that does not mean that he didn’t suffer any injuries. He told the crowd that he thought he might’ve pulled his left nutsack. Good thing he still has the right one.

Snoop Dogg did a Justin Timberlake
August 4th, 2025 under Snoop Dogg. [ Comments: none ]

For the last few weeks, everyone, including me, has been making fun of Justin Timberlake. Why now? Because during concerts, he let the audience sing his songs while he would belt out a word like every 30 seconds. He says the lackluster performances are because he has Lyme Disease.

So, what is Snoop Dogg’s excuse? Over the weekend, Access Hollywood caught him DJing, and played Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’ for the crowd. However, like the singer who did not bring sexy back, he let them sing almost every word by themselves.

If this keeps happening, I will be OK with the audience throwing objects at the singers. Concert tickets are not cheap. They are trained monkeys, and they need to sing for me.

And yes, I know Snoop was having as much fun with them as they were with him. He is no Justin Timberlake!

A Tale of Two Jesus Christ Superstars
August 4th, 2025 under Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cynthia Erivo. [ Comments: none ]

Over the weekend, Jesus Christ Superstar was performed at the Hollywood Bowl with Cynthia Erivo in the title role. She was not the only Jesus there. Ted Neeley, who starred in the 1973 film, was in the audience enjoying seeing his legacy live on. And he loved it.

He was not the only original cast member there. The other woman in that photo is Yvonne Elliman, who played Mary Magdalene on the stage and screen. No offense to Phillipa Soo, who gave a powerful performance, but Elliman is by far the best Mary Magdalene of them all. And I have seen countless performances of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.

On that note, John Stamos and Josh Gad both sucked as much as Alice Cooper as King Herod, Uncle Jessie leading the pack as the worst one. Too bad they couldn’t get Josh Mostel to reprise his role. No one gave a performance as joyous as he did. Although I think I love Rik Mayall’s version from the 2000 film the most, which is also my favorite take on JCS!

Can you tell I love this musical?

Fun Fact: Neeley took his friend Sally Struthers with him. Why? The actor wrote, “Archie Bunker had a strong opinion about Jesus Christ Superstar, so, naturally, I had to take his ‘Little Goyl’ Gloria as my date to the #hollywoodbowl! Take that Archie! Lovely to see you Sally!! “

Will Stephen Colbert play a corpse on Elsbeth?
August 3rd, 2025 under Stephen Colbert. [ Comments: none ]

Back in February, Wendell Pierce was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and the host told him he wanted to play a corpse on the police procedural. And the actor said he would make it happen.

Well, he did. According to Vulture, Colbert is going to play the host of Way Late with Scotty Bristol in that episode, which is filming now.

CBS has not confirmed his appearance, but Josef Adalian is speculating that it will be on the special season premiere that will air after an NFL game on October 12th.

The casting, which has been in the works for a while, is even more exciting because of the late night show’s cancellation a few weeks ago.
