The Residence and Pulse no longer have a pulse on Netflix
July 2nd, 2025 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

Netflix has made a decision on two of its freshman shows, The Residence and Pulse, and it is not good. Both series were cancelled after just one season.

The Residence, which starred Uzo Aduba and Giancarlo Esposito, was described as 132 rooms. 157 suspects. One dead body. One wildly eccentric detective. One disastrous State Dinner. The Residence is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world’s most famous mansion. With the cancellation of The Residence, Shondaland had a rare season one failure.

The Pulse is described as a hurricane barrels towards Miami’s busiest Level 1 Trauma Center, third-year resident Dr. Danny Simms (Willa Fitzgerald) is unexpectedly thrust into a promotion when beloved Chief Resident Dr. Xander Phillips (Colin Woodell) is suspended. Amid the worsening storm and an onslaught of trauma cases, the hospital goes into lockdown, and Danny and Phillips must find a way to work together – even as the bombshell details of a complicated and illicit romance between them begin to spill out. The rest of the ER is left to process the fallout of their relationship while balancing their own challenges, both personal and professional, as they work under the pressure of life-or-death stakes. Because for this tight-knit group of doctors, saving their patients’ lives is often less complicated than living their own.

Meanwhile, No Good Deed, an anthology series, which starred Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano for season one, is still waiting to find out if it will be back for another murder mystery.

Before Demi Moore was dating John Cusack in One Crazy Summer, she had another man in her life in Choices. She looks the same now as she did when she was 17 in her 1982 acting debut.

Savanah Bananas are going to hit it out of the park on Roku
July 2nd, 2025 under Savannah Bananas. [ Comments: none ]

Savanah Bananas is going from all over social media to all over the small screen. The baseball team has already signed on to broadcast games on ESPN and The CW, and today, Roku Channel announced that they will be playing ball with them on July 6th at 3:30p.

The baseball team who are making sports special again will be playing against the Firefighters in Fenway Park.

“We are fired up to be teaming up with Roku on one of the biggest and most exciting games of the year! We can’t wait to bring the fast-paced game of Banana Ball to new fans all over the country on Roku! And you better believe that we’ve got some surprises in store for Fenway!” said Savannah Bananas owner Jesse Cole.

I love that they are finally getting the attention they deserve. They have been bringing me joy for years, and I love that now a wider audience can experience the same happiness as I do. For example, watch Coach RAC and Maceo Harrison recreate Drake & Josh’s dance above!

This year’s Big Brother theme is a mystery
July 2nd, 2025 under Big Brother- US. [ Comments: none ]

Big Brother returns on July 10th, and today, CBS announced the theme for this season.

During a Summer of Mystery, houseguests will enter the enigmatic Hotel Mystère, a place where secrets lurk behind every door and nothing is as it seems. In a season full of surprises, the premiere will be filled with unexpected twists and turns including a masked visitor, a secret accomplice and the shocking arrival of a “Mystery Houseguest” whose identity will remain under wraps … at least for now.

“BIG BROTHER: A Summer of Mystery” House Highlights:

  • Mystery Hotel Theme: The BIG BROTHER house is transformed into a suspense-filled hotel, complete with secrets, hidden passageways and a mysterious vibe that sets the stage for a summer of intrigue.

  • Reception Area: Houseguests are welcomed by a wall of 75 key boxes, some filled with skeleton keys and other clues that might reveal themselves later in the game …

  • Living Room Chess Guardians: Towering 22-foot walls and a balcony lined with giant plaster chess pieces (bishop, queen, king, knight) watch over the house, adding a regal and strategic flair.

  • Attic Bedroom of Oddities: Beds made from wooden crates, rubber masks on the walls and haunted artifacts like a black knight’s helmet and diving suit make this room a spooky treasure trove.

  • Sleeper Car Bunk Room: Behind a secret entrance, this train-themed bedroom straight out of a murder mystery novel contains bunkbeds for six Houseguests (the first time the BB house has had bunk beds since season one!) and a sleek Art Deco design.

  • Rooftop Garden Kitchen: The kitchen and dining area mimic a rooftop garden with ivy-covered walls, sunset skies and a 10-foot round garden party table under string lights.

  • Secretive “Wine Cellar”: A moody, bottle-lined cellar (with no actual wine, sorry Houseguests) is a perfect spot for whispering secrets and plotting moves.

  • Victorian Conservatory Lounge: A lush, plant-filled room with a 13-foot green velvet lounge and a plum tree, ideal for quiet strategy sessions.

  • Venom Lounge and Poison Bar: Upstairs, snakes slither across the wallpaper in a moody lounge featuring a “Poison Bar,” (don’t worry, there is no actual poison) a velvet daybed and ravens stealing party lights.

  • Boxing Ring Gym: The gym includes a full boxing ring, heavy bag and workout gear – great for blowing off steam and staying in top sleuthing shape.

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I might actually watch for the first time in over 20 seasons. Can you believe this one is their 27th?
