Sean Astin is following in his mother’s footsteps and running for president of the Screen Actors’ Guild.
It has been 40 years since Patty Duke assumed the title for three years. Her son told The Hollywood Reporter, “It feels like this moment is a culmination of all of that work,” he said. “The time feels like it’s absolutely right and I’m excited to do it.”
And I am excited he has opted to run. I cannot think of a better person for the job. He was raised by two actors, Duke and John Astin, who spent their lives in the business. Plus, Sean is a caring man, and that is something the actors need after the current administration, which seemed more about camera time than the job.
Along with all of that, Astin has starred in several cult classics, like The Goonies, Rudy, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Stranger Things, to name a few. Therefore, he has a deep understanding of the landscape over several decades and can work with studios to secure the best deals for the actors.
If I were a SAG member, he would have my vote. But I am not one. So, I will tell my friends who are to vote for him because I know he will be there for them, and some of them really need his help.
Growing up in NYC, it was innate in us to love Billy Joel. We came out of the womb singing Piano Man. So, when HBO Max announced that they were airing a documentary on his life and music, we knew we have to watch it. It is about time we learned more about the man who has been a part of our lives since day one.
And So It Goes is an expansive portrait of the life and music of Billy Joel, exploring the love, loss, and personal struggles that fuel his songwriting. With unprecedented access to never-before-seen performances, home movies, and personal photographs, along with extensive, in-depth one-on-one interviews, the documentary intimately explores the life and work of Joel, whose music has endured across generations.
We are a little over two months from the start of the Fall season on broadcast TV, and today, CBS announced when their shows will air their season premieres.
However, there is a big change. The FBI spinoff starring Tom Ellis is moving from the Fall to midseason. According to Deadline, the reason is that Showrunner David Hudgins has exited the series and Warren Leight will be replacing him. Therefore, they need time to adjust to the changes.
So, what is replacing CIA? Watson, which proved to be a hit last midseason, will now debut on Mondays in the Fall, instead of being held for 2026. Something I always thought should be the case.

June Squibb has finally found the fame she deserves in her 90s, so there must be a lot of advantages to turning 95?
Andrew Freund interviewed the legend in the back of a Waymo, and he wanted to know what the best thing is about reaching that milestone. She told him, “Oh, just that you really don’t care what anyone thinks!”
Wise words from a wise woman. We should all not give a fuck what anyone thinks about us because who are they to think that about me and you?
Now, let’s talk about Waymo. Would you go for a ride in one? Yesterday, my friend asked me if I had ever taken one. He could tell by the way I said no that I haven’t and wouldn’t be taking one anytime soon. I have felt that way ever since the Game Shakers/Henry Danger crossover episode when they went for a drive in a driverless taxi. Not for me, and I love scary rides.
As we know, David Cornswet is playing Superman in James Gunn’s take of the superhero. But he is not the only actor who auditioned for the role. Nicholas Hoult, who plays Lex Luthor, also tried out for the part, but didn’t get it.
Now, we know why. He can’t even open a water bottle on his own. He needed some help from Kent, Clark Kent. And that is why Hoult is the villain and not the Man of Steel.
