Back in March, ABC asked Tim Allen and Kat Dennings to shoot a pilot for Shifting Gears. However, the network opted not to pick it up in May. Instead, they asked the producers to rework it, and they did.

The rework worked, so ABC ordered it to series with Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins, and Barrett Margolis as co-stars.

According to Variety, Allen plays Matt, “the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter (Dennings) and her teenage kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.”

I have a feeling this will debut either with The Conners’ final episodes or after the series ends its run early next year.

I don’t know about you, but I look forward to laughing with this comedy.

The Oscars is 216 days away, and ABC and AMPAS have already been rejected by two people they asked to host the Academy Awards.

Those two people are Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted the movie’s biggest night four times since 2017, and John Mulaney, according to Puck News.

A few weeks ago, Laura Leighton, Daphne Zuniga, and Courtney Thorne-Smith announced they were doing a vodcast about their time on Melrose Place. Today, they had Grant Show on Still the Place.

Can we all agree they aged wonderfully? No wonder there are talks of a sequel in the works. Hopefully, the podcast will get one of the streaming services to pick it to series.
