Did you watch the Barbie movie and wonder where in the world Barbie Land is? You are not alone. Neil deGrasse Tyson wondered the same thing, so he studied the sky in the movie to determine its location.
Is it in Malibu? Nope, but it is in another sunny location. The astrophysicist wrote, “In Barbie the Movie, the Moon’s orientation places Barbie World between 20 & 40 degrees North Latitude on Earth. Palm trees further constrain latitude between 20 & 30 degrees.
“The Sun & Moon rose & set over the ocean.
“So if it’s in the United States, then Barbie World lands somewhere in the Florida Keys.”
This reveal almost makes up for Pluto not being a real planet. But not totally.
Adam Sandler has made a lot of films, and some of them have even included cameos by his daughters, Sadie and Sunny. In his latest movie, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah; he promoted his girls to lead roles.
Lifelong best friends Stacy (Sunny Sandler) and Lydia (Samantha Lorraine) have long dreamt of epic bat mitzvahs but when popular boy Andy Goldfarb (Dylan Hoffman) and Hebrew school drama come between them, their perfect plans go comically awry.
Sandler’s wife, Jackie, is also in the film. However, she doesn’t play his wife like his daughters play his daughters. Instead, Idina Menzel has that role. Make sense?
The Sandler family debuts on Netflix on August 25th.
Yesterday was the final US date of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in 2023, and she had a little announcement for the Swifties. The singer played her tune New Romantics, so you know what that means.
“Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you ! The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th,” the singer, who was born in 1989, wrote. “To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!”

There were reports that the Emmys were being postponed due to the Actors and Writers strikes, and today Fox confirmed it. They announced the new date for television’s biggest night to Monday, January 15th.
I think that means that we will not be seeing our broadcast scripted shows until January at the earliest. So we won’t know who won’t know how the season finales will be resolved until 2024. Damn you, AMPTP. Just come to the table and agree to a deal. It is not that hard. And every day costs you more than you are saving. It is not worth it to you, them, and us, the viewers.
Now, back to the Emmys. I bet you a dollar that Fox is going to ask Foxx, Jamie Foxx, to host. Since the actor is getting better, and he has the music game show, We Are Family, coming to Fox soon.
