Rita Moreno was on Today today to talk about playing Vin Diesel’s grandmother in Fast X, and she told Hoda Kotb that she is getting dirtier and dirtier the older she gets. Basically, the actress said that she is 91 and she doesn’t give a fuck anymore. Although, she didn’t say fuck because broadcast television.

Anyways, Moreno is an EGOT winner, which means she has an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony. So Today wanted to give an award, and they brought Craig Melvin out to give it to her.

The anchor walked over to her and kissed her hand and her cheek. Then she told him, “Sit down, you animal!” And as a good animal, he obeyed his master.

After that, they flirted. And Melvin told her, “I’m married.” To which the actress responded, “Do we give a hoot?”

At that point, a blushing Melvin wanted to toss to commercial. Because, after all, this is Today and not GMA3. The anchors don’t cheat on their spouses. Too soon? I mean, Matt Lauer has been gone for like ever.

Seriously, I love Miss Moreno for being as carefree as she is. But then I had this thought. I am like her now. And if I am like her at my age. What the fuck am I going to be like at her age? I don’t even want to know! And neither will the people around me!

Oh, and am I the only one who kind of wants something to happen between Morvin? I don’t want his marriage to end, but they were so sweet together at that moment.

Before Marlon Wayans was hiring his brothers to be in his movies, they hired him to be I’m Gonna Git You Sucka. He looks the same now as he did when he was 15 in that 1988 movie?

There is a strike going on in Hollywood. And the Writers’ strike is probably going to be the first one. Chances are either the DGA or SAG are going to follow suit in the next few months.

Therefore the networks have had this in mind as they planned for the Fall. CBS is going on as is. NBC had a few shows in the bank. Fox is yet to announce their schedule. And today, ABC revealed that they are going all reality, game shows, and repeats.

And that makes me wonder, are people going to tune in for that, or will they watch something original on streaming?

I mean, old people on The Bachelor, aka The Golden Bachelor, could be fun. Or it could get old, pun intended, quickly.

Although I have to admit, Disney and ABC played this round well. Because they are trying to tell everyone that they are not afraid of your strike because they will find ways around it.

However, we won’t know if they won that round for a few months. I am hoping they lose because I prefer scripted over unscripted. What about you?

Like many award shows, the SAG Awards have pretty much become irrelevant. Because of that, it has been demoted from broadcast, sorry cable, television to streaming next year.

So the Screen Actors Guild found a way to make their date memorable for Netflix. They did that by having their 30th annual shindig go live on 2-24-2024.

Hopefully, Netflix will have all their going-live technical difficulties figured out by then, and it won’t be another Love is Blind fiasco.

When it comes to that date? Who is going to forget it? It is almost as good as whoever books their wedding on 6/9/69! If I am still alive, that is going to be when I get married. Although, at this rate, that still might be too soon to plan for.
