Whose Line Is It Anyway cancelled again
November 5th, 2022 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Whose Line Is It Anyway started its US run on ABC in 1998 with Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, and Wayne Brady as performers, but they cancelled it in 2007.

The CW brought it back in 2013, but today Mochrie Tweeted some sad news. “Hey everyone. Hope you are enjoying the current season of Whose Line. In January, we shoot our final season,” he wrote. “Thank you all for the support over the years.”

Hopefully, HBO Max will save this funny show. It is cheap and has a loyal following. I am surprised it was not good enough for Nexstar, who acquired The CW and keeps swinging the ax.

Whose Line joins the recently cancelled Nancy Drew, DC’s Star Girl, and possibly The Winchesters and Walker: Independence, which did not get any additional episodes ordered.

RIP Aaron Carter
November 5th, 2022 under Backstreet Boys /Aaron Carter, Obits. [ Comments: none ]

Aaron Carter was found dead today at the age of 33, according to TMZ.

We could focus on his teenage years and his music career. But his later life was plagued by scandals, drugs, and arrests. He was another child star who never had a normal life and was never able to achieve it.

I think many of us were hoping that he would get the help needed when he had his son, Prince, who turns one this month. However, he lost custody of the baby in September. Even though the singer entered outpatient rehab to regain custody of his son, it was not to save him.

Now, his mother is morning her second child. His older sister, Leslie, passed away in 2012 from a drug overdose.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is a biopic fitting for him
November 4th, 2022 under Roku, Weird Al Yankovic. [ Comments: none ]

Weird Al Yankovic has been teasing a biopic for over a decade, and it is finally streaming on the Roku Channel for free.

Since Weird Al is known for parodying songs, it would make sense that he would parody his own life story. How does he do that in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story? I want to tell you, but it is better you experience it as it happens.

I can tell you it starts out with young Al, whose father disapproves of who he is. So, when he is old enough, he leaves home and lives with a bunch of guys who encourage him and his music.

He rewrites My Sharona to My Bologna and sends a copy of it to Dr. Demento (Rainn Wilson), a popular radio DJ. Dr. Demento and his fans love it so much that it becomes an instant hit. Therefore, Weird Al tries to get a record contract from Tony (some weird unknown actor) and Ben Scotti (Will Forte). However, they turn him down.

Eventually, he is accepted as a musician, and he is an instant hit. But then his world comes crashing down when he accidentally does drugs and dates Madonna (Evan Rachel Wood) on purpose.

Much like his real life.

Well, the only thing that is like his real life is his songs are in it, and all of his friends who have cameos in the movie, like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Conan O’Brien, Emo Phillips, Josh Groban, and Jack Black. The latter should star in a film about the person whom he plays in this movie.

I know this review is pretty vague, but the movie starring Daniel Radcliffe needs to be enjoyed with as little spoilers as possible. It is just silly fun! And we always need to make more time for stupid fun. Plus, the price is right!

Oh, and I can’t wait for the eventual sequel.

Mandy Patinkin reveals he had COVID-19, urges people to get vaccinated
November 4th, 2022 under Coronavirus, Mandy Patinkin. [ Comments: none ]

Mandy Patinkin is turning 70 at the end of this month, so he needs to protect himself against COVID-19. Therefore, he and his wife, Katherine, have been vaccinated and boosted.

It is a good thing that is the case because the actor revealed that he had a bad case of coronavirus last week. Had he not been getting the shots, he would’ve been hospitalized and maybe even worse.

But that was not the case. Patinkin is on the other side of it now, and he encourages everyone who can get vaccinated and the booster shots to do it. It could save your life.

And even though we are living like it is 2019, there are still hundreds of people dying from it all over the country. Don’t believe the conspiracy theorists; there is no microchip in it. That is what our cell phones are for. Like duh!

November 4th, 2022 under Michael Damian. [ Comments: none ]

However, next month, he is going back to where he started. That’s right; he is going to reprise his role as Danny Romalotti on The Young and the Restless. According to Soap Opera Digest, he will appear in a few episodes starting on December 22nd.

While the magazine did not say what is bringing Danny home after almost ten years, the actor gave us a hint of who he will be working with, “Incredible excited to be returning to Genoa City working with all my amazing Y&R friends and family! @LauraleeB4real @TheRealStafford @Traceybregman @BethMaitlandDQB #michaelgraziadei”
