Two years ago, Sinbad, 66, suffered a stroke, but his family didn’t elaborate on how serious it was. Today, they gave an update on his condition, and it is a miracle that the comedian is still with us.
The family wrote, “On October 25, 2020, Sinbad suffered an ischemic stroke as a result of a blood clot that traveled from his heart to his brain. He was rushed into surgery at West Hills Medical Center that night where the doctor’s performed a thrombectomy to remove the clot and restore normal blood flow to the brain. After surgery, Sinbad was talking and moving with some weakness, but the prognosis was very promising. The next day, however, another blood clot formed, half the size of the first. He successfully underwent the same surgery again, but it took a little more from him than the first surgery.”
After the surgery, his brain began to swell, and they did a craniotomy. During the operation, doctors discovered a bleed in his brain. Instead of waking him up post-op, they put him in an induced coma and placed him on a ventilator. And that is how he spent the next several weeks.
When he finally woke up, his left side was paralyzed. He spent the next several months in rehab. And then, nearly nine months after that fateful night, he was finally sent home.
Since then, he has been getting stronger. However, all of the therapy has drained him of his savings. Therefore his family is asking for some financial help so he can continue to improve. If you would like to donate to his care, you can do so at the site that Sinbad’s family set up.
Along with asking for money, they thanked us for our prayers. He had a 30% chance of survival, and they believe “Sinbad is here because of the multitude of prayers from all who know and love him. We are eternally grateful. Every outpouring of love and the memories of how he has touched all of you have not gone unheard, unseen, or unfelt. Thank you. You have lifted his spirits along the way and inspired the entire family.”
Doesn’t it seem like there are too many award shows on television? Well, now, one of the more popular ones might not be airing this year. That is because the SAG Awards doesn’t have a television channel to call its own.
Back in May, the award show announced that they parted ways with TNT and they would be looking for a new home. It is November, and according to Deadline, they still don’t have one.
So come February 26th, we might find out who won via the internet because there will be nowhere to watch it.
Hopefully, one of the streaming services will pick it up. If they don’t, this will be another black eye for Fran Drescher, who is the president of the Screen Actors Guild. Her reign is full of failures, and this would be her hugest one to date.
Last year, Miley Cyrus hosted NBC’s New Year’s Eve special with Pete Davidson. Since he is so 2021, this year, Miley is getting a new co-host. Who is it going to be? Someone who is going to stay up past her 9 to 5 shift. That’s right. It is Dolly Parton.
The two legends will be joined in Miami by other musicians to be named at a later date. Personally, I think the two of them could do the whole show by themselves. Because they are who we are going to tune in to see.
Their Party in the USA will air from 10:30p-12:30a. And we will be watching because who else would you want to spend the ball drop with at midnight?
Last weekend, Jay Leno suffered third-degree burns on his face, chest, and hands after a car he was working on suddenly caught on fire. Because of his injuries, he was rushed to the Grossman Burn Center, and they spent the last week working on making him better.
They did such a great job on the 72-year-old that he was released from the hospital this morning.
“After a 10-day stay at the facility, Jay will receive follow-up care at the Grossman Outpatient Burn Clinic for burns to his face, chest, and hands he received during a fire at his home garage,” Grossman Burn Center said in a statement to People. “Jay would like to let everyone know how thankful he is for the care he received, and is very appreciative of all of the well wishes. He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday.”
Along with the statement, the hospital released a photo of Leno. It is the first time we are seeing his mug since the accident, and he looks great. You can barely see any scarring.
Hopefully, his recovery will continue to go smoothly.
