April 20th, 2022 under Junk Food. [ Comments: none ]

Today is 420, so let’s throw a party. What snacks should we bring? Hostess snacks, of course. Because we all thought that, the snack company came up with a tweet that made them win today. So in honor of that, let’s light a joint to them and down a box of Twinkies!

Nobody better take their shot at the Tonys!
April 20th, 2022 under Broadway. [ Comments: none ]

The Tonys slapped the Oscars with this new rule starting with this year’s awards show.

According to Deadline, a letter went out from the Tony Award Productions to potential ticket-buyers that says, “The Tony Awards has a strict no violence policy. In the event of an incident, the perpetrator will be removed from the event immediately.”

Oh, please. This is the Tonys. There will be no bitch slapping. And if there is, it will be so dramatic that the slapper will exit stage left and never look back. And if that doesn’t happen, then there will be a rumble between the musicals and the plays that will make West Side Story jealous.

Now, I am thinking they should do a Hamilton and not miss their shot. We need a duel. Just not one that ends as it did between Hamilton and Aaron Burr. Too soon?

Russian Doll found a way to top season 1’s brilliance
April 20th, 2022 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

Season 1 of Russian Doll was brilliant. It dealt with Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) living her birthday over and over and over again until she figures out why she has been cursed to do so. Eventually, she breaks the chain and gets to move on with her life.

So with that in mind, I wondered how they were going to be able to do a second season which is streaming now on Netflix. Would she be forced to live the same day over again and again and again?

Therefore, the producers came up with a way to change it up. This time around, Nadia, who is four years older, gets on a train that time travels her back to 1982. There is something she needs to correct, but can she figure out what it is?

I want to tell you more, but I can’t because it will ruin the experience.

What I will tell you is that 7 30-minute episodes are an easy one-sitting binge. It is so good. And you never know what is going to happen next because the Nadia character is as unpredictable as the show itself. Plus, Lyonne is so captivating in the role. You want to hate her, but you can’t. So you find yourself rooting for her and hoping she can solve the mystery before it is too late. That is why it is so enjoyable, and you will want to watch it all with no break.

Now, I can’t wait to see how they top it for season 3. There better be one, Netflix.

April 20th, 2022 under Coronavirus, Julianne Hough. [ Comments: none ]

Julianne Hough is the latest Broadway star to test positive for COVID-19.

“Hi everyone, I’m really bummed to share that I have tested positive for COVID. I am feeling
okay, but unfortunately need to miss a few POTUS shows,” the Dancing with the Stars dancer wrote. “Out of an abundance of caution, I’ll be quarantining until I get the safe sign-off to return. Can’t wait for everyone to see our incredible show!”

Hopefully, she will be better soon and back on the stage.
