Yesterday on 9-1-1, we said goodbye to Michael Grant. Today, we found out why Rockmond Dunbar, the actor who portrayed him, left the first responders drama. The actor refused to get the COVID-19 vaccine which is mandatory by 20th Century Fox.
“I applied for religious and medical accommodations pursuant to the law and unfortunately was denied by my employer,” Dunbar said in a statement to Variety. “My sincerely held beliefs and private medical history are very intimate and personal aspects of my life that I do not publicly discuss and have no desire to start now. I’ve been an actor in this business for 30 years, but my greatest roles are as a husband and father to our 4 small children. As a man that walks in faith, I look forward to what the future holds. I have enjoyed the last 5 seasons with this wonderful cast and crew and will cherish the time I’ve been blessed to spend with this series and wish everyone involved nothing but the best.”
I think Fox made the right decision. Everyone should be vaccinated if they can get it because we need to protect those that can’t.
I hope that SAG< DGA, WGA, and IATSE make it so that everyone who is part of their unions must be vaccinated if they can be. I don't know why they haven't done that already.
Derek Hough woke up this morning and found out that he tested positive for COVID-19 even though he is fully vaccinated. That means, he most likely will not be at the judges’ table for the Dancing with the Stars finale on Monday. So that meaNs he will probably do it from home.
I hope that the dancer didn’t infect any of the other judges because Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli are over 65 and Carrie Ann Inaba has an autoimmune disease. Even though she had it back in March, it is still risky for her to get it again.
Back to Hough, he has been traveling back and forth between LA and Las Vegas doing shows in Sin City, so that is probably where he got it. This was supposed to be his final week of shows, but now they are postponed because of coronavirus.
Hough is not the first person to test positive for COVID this season. Cheryl Burke was first and then her partner Cody Rigsby was diagnosed a few days later. Hough missed the week that Rigsby and Burke competed from their homes because he was exposed to it in Vegas.
Steve Burns joined TikTok yesterday and posted a video that proves we still need him as adults.
It is just him sitting there, listening to what we have to say with the caption that reads, “I’m just giving you the attention we both know you deserve.”
I didn’t know I needed that until I saw it on my For You Page. It was for me. And it is for you too. I just hope he knows we are here for him too.
I also hope some network gives him a show because we all need his positivity now as we needed it back when he hosted Blue’s Clues. Why can’t we as adults enjoy and learn from him again? There is no reason that we can’t. So, please, some adult, give him a show for us. The World would be a better place because of it.
Blake Lively shared a photo of herself using the urinal, and she wrote, “Not a lot going on at the moment.”
That gave me time to analyze the photo and assume she is the one who wears the pants in the family. Deadpool might make Ryan Reynolds the breadwinner, but she is the one in charge of the pool. I can totally see that. Can’t you?
Raymond Arroyo was on Laura Ingraham’s show yesterday, and he brought up the show Netflix show You to her. Well, the Fox News talking head thought it was about her.
When he mentioned that You did an episode about the measles, she couldn’t understand what he was talking about. She kept saying she never did an episode about the measles. This went back and forth several times, and she still didn’t get it. He thought, if he explained it is a Netflix show called You, the lightbulb would finally go off. It didn’t, and she thought it was called The Laura Ingraham Show.
Can someone explain to me why all these Fox viewers listen to her? Because to me, the COVIDiot just sounds like what happens when you take the COV away from that word.
I really hope Netflix finds a way to do something with this. And if they can’t come up with something by Sunday, I am sure Saturday Night Live will give them to use.
Oh, and I am not going to compare this to Abbott & Costello because they were brilliant, and she is not.
UPDATE: Raymond Arroyo says it was all planned on Twitter. He wrote, “My favorite part was that only regular viewers realized it was totally scripted.” I have two emojis to respond to that, and they are 🐮 and 💩.
