March 5th, 2021 under AllBLK, Before They Were Famous. [ Comments: none ]

Before Dr. Boogie had his own show My Mane Problem on ALLBLK, he was a contestant wowing us with hair techniques on Shear Genius. He looks the same now as he did when he was 33 on that 2007 competition show.

Why didn’t Eric Nies return to the Real World loft?

Today, Paramount got into the streaming business with Paramount+. One of the first shows to debut on the streaming service was a reunion from one of the first reality shows to grace our televisions.

In 1992, we got to know Norman Korpi, Julie Gentry, Becky Blasband, Kevin Powell, Andre Comeau, Heather Gardner, and Eric Nies on The Real World. Back in January, they all got together again for six days to film The Real World Homecoming: New York in the same loft from 28 years ago.

Well, almost everyone. Six houseguests moved in, but one was missing. That person is Eric Nies. Did the model turn host get bitten by the Divo bug and refuse to do it? Far from it. He got bit by a different bug; he tested positive for COVID-19 and was forced to quarantine in a hotel. He is still part of the reunion, but from a safe distance away from his former roommates.

When it comes to the first episode, they are still nice to each other. It could be because they are older, or it could be that they are still being polite. Hopefully, next week they will start getting real. Who doesn’t love reality show drama? That is why we are still watching Real World after all of these decades. Do you feel old?

Talking about old, let’s talk about how great they all look. They aged a little, but they all still look great. I would still be able to pick them all out in a crowd.

Dunkin’ Donuts gets into the jellybean business
March 4th, 2021 under Fast Food, Junk Food. [ Comments: none ]

Dunkin’ Donuts has been expanding its brand over the last few years. They have ventured into the cereal business, much to the delight of my belly, and now they are teaming up with Frankford Candy for jellybeans based on their iced coffee flavors.

Brian Gilbert, Vice President of Retail Business Development at Dunkin’, says, “Jelly beans are such a classic and popular part of the holiday and seasonal celebration. We are thrilled to team up with Frankford Candy, the leader in confections that have delighted Americans for decades, to create a fun and sweet new way for people to enjoy the great taste of Dunkin’.”

What flavors will be in the $3.49 bag that will be available at Walgreen’s and Rite-Aid? They will taste like Dunkin’s signature iced coffees like French Vanilla, Caramel Latte, Butter Pecan, Toasted Coconut, and Hazelnut.

My mouth is already wet with desire for them. Too bad we have to wait until Easter to eat them. Even sadder is that they will only be available for a limited time. Maybe if we eat enough of them; they will make it a permanent thing?

Does Carson Daly look better with a side part or one in the middle?
March 4th, 2021 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

So Gen Z says you are old if you wear your hair with a side part. That is because they say it looks like a combover. Combover or not, no one looks good with a part down the middle.

Don’t believe me? Look at Carson Daly. He looks like a nerd with a side part and one of the Three Stooges with one down the middle. Wait, maybe he is not a good example. What do you think?
