BTWF: Willem Day-foe in acting school
November 11th, 2019 under Before They Were Famous, Conan O'Brien. [ Comments: none ]

Before we knew him as Willem Dah-foe, he told people his last name was pronounced Day-foe. Why did the 20 year old pronounce his name a different way in 1975? He told Conan O’Brien that half of his family pronounced it one way and the other half like we do. He preferred the Day-foe until people assumed his first name was Dave. After the happened to him a few times, he realized Dah-foe sounded better especially as an actor.

Fantasy Island is anything but a fantasy
November 11th, 2019 under Blumhouse, Stupid Sequels/Remakes. [ Comments: 1 ]

Why does every remake have to be f*cked up psychological thriller these days? Case in point the remake of the positive Fantasy Island is now a dark thriller. Someone give the writers of movies today some antidepressants because this depressing sh!t needs to stop. Between Joker, The Invisible Man and this, Hollywood needs to lighten the f*ck up. Why can’t we have happy things? What is so wrong with that?

I thought my love life was sad, but seeing this on Valentine’s Day would be even sadder. Screw you Blumhouse.

Jinkies! What did they do to Scooby Doo?
November 11th, 2019 under Movies. [ Comments: none ]

Warner Bros is bringing Scooby Doo back to the big screen on May 15th with Scooby and Shaggy’s origin story.

Scoob! is an animated film made with computerized animation. Some people like it, but I think it looks and makes everything feel really cheap. Not only that, the characters don’t look like the ones we know and care about. Maybe the Scooby gang can investigate that?

Whenever I am babysitting my friends’ kids and they put on anything with this type of animation, I make them shut it off. I just hate everything about it. It is better to pay the extra money to make it be spectacular than have it look like a direct to video project that only a toddler will appreciate.

Helena Bonham Carter asked the late Princess Margaret should she play her
November 11th, 2019 under Graham Norton, Helena Bonham Carter. [ Comments: none ]

Helena Bonham Carter is playing the late Princess Margaret in Netflix’s The Crown, but she was unsure if she should play the part. Before the actress said yes, she told Graham Norton, she went to see a psychic about something else. That psychic is also a medium and told Carter that there was a Margaret in the room with them. Did that name mean anything?

Carter not wanting to miss the chance of finding out if the Royal was alright with her taking on her essence, she decided to ask if it was OK. The Princess told her, “I think you are a better idea than the other actor.” With that Carter accepted the role.

Princess Margaret also had a suggestion for the woman who is playing her, she instructed her to, “Get the smoking right.” The Countess of Snowdon had a very distinctive way of her holding her cigarette holder and Carter made sure to replicate that.

Carter also revealed that she had met the Princess, and she had a way of “complimenting you and putting you down at the same time.” Therefore, the actress knew it was really Margaret.

When it comes to whom that other actress was, we do not know. But I wonder if the ghost also told her the same thing she told Carter…

Seriously, if you get the seal of approval from a dead person, you better do what they say. Otherwise, they will haunt you for the rest of your life. Then again if Carter did not do a good job in the series, then the Princess still haunt her. Boo!
