Mulan looks like the first live-action remake that can work
July 7th, 2019 under Disney Kids. [ Comments: none ]

I will openly admit, I am not a fan of Disney’s live-action remakes. I was underwhelmed by Cinderella, and none of them have interested me ever since. That is until I saw the teaser for Mulan. Here is one of their animated classics that might actually be better as a live-action. It almost feels like this is how it always should have been.

Hopefully, it will not disappoint like the others. You know like Dumbo and Aladdin. We will find out soon enough when the movie comes out on March 27th.

Stevie Wonder is getting a kidney transplant in September
July 7th, 2019 under Uncategorized. [ Comments: none ]

Stevie Wonder played Hyde Park in London yesterday and he had a message for the crowd. The legendary singer told the packed audience that he will be taking a break from performing, after his next three shows, because he is getting surgery. As soon as they heard surgery, you could hear them gasp.

Then the 69-year-old explained, “I am going to have a kidney transplant September of this year.” To ease their fears, he told them, “I’m all good. I have a donor and all good.”

He did not reveal why he needs the transplants, but I am sure we will find out more in the coming weeks. For now, let’s pray he gets through the surgery without any problems. Then he can get back on the road, much to the delight of his fans.

Cameron Boyce passed away yesterday at the age of 20. The actor “passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”

Even though he was just 20 years old, he had been acting nonstop for over his half of life. Boyce is best known for playing Luke on Jessie and Carlos De Vil in the Descendants franchise. The third and final movie is slated to air August 2nd on Disney Channel.

Boyce was also the title voice of the popular kids’ cartoon Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Not only was he a Disney star, but he also played Adam Sandler’s on in Grown Ups and its sequel.

Along with Descendants 3, he has two other projects coming out. The television series Paradise City and the movie Runt.

Today, let’s honor this great talent that was taken away from us way too young and watch many of his enjoyable acting roles. I will be rewatching him in Descendants. He had such a bright future because he had such an amazing past.

My heart goes out to his family and friends. Remember to tell your loved ones that you love them because this is a reminder life is way too short.

KCBS’s Juan Fernandez’s face was priceless during the 7.1 earthquake

KCBS/KCAL was live on the air with Juan Fernandez and Sara Donchey when the 7.1 earthquake hit yesterday. I am assuming the newswoman is new to Los Angeles because you can tell how scared she was. While her co-anchor, who moved here shortly after Northridge happened, was experiencing his largest quake to date. You can see by his face, he was not enjoying it. However, he knew he had to go on with the news to let the viewers know what was going on. Which was very professional of him, although, you can also tell he just wanted his mommy to hold him.

Which we all did yesterday when the ground below us made us feel like we are in a boat on top really choppy water. I should say everyone but my cat. She was running away from me because she was scared. As soon as the shaking stopped, she ate her food as though nothing happened. She was calm and I was nervous.

We are over 130 miles away from the epicenter, so we are fine. I pray for the people of Ridgecrest, who are where all the action is. I cannot even imagine what they are going through.

For the first time in my life, I really felt like I was in all those earthquake disaster movies I have watched all my life. Which is why Juan and I had the same face. I think we were much calmer yesterday then when we dealt with all of those tropical storms and hurricanes in Miami. Which is why I always say you pick your natural disasters. They are everywhere, it just which ones can you handle.

Baby Archie was Christened today
July 6th, 2019 under British Royals. [ Comments: none ]

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted a private Christening for their son today and they got just that. Since they got their wish, they shared a family photo with his grandparents, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Prince of Wales, and Ms. Doria Ragland, his uncle and aunt, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and his great aunts (Princess Diana’s sisters) Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have opted to keep his godparents’ names private.

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was “baptized wearing the handmade replica of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years. The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter.”

It looks the 2-month-old will be a redhead just like Prince Harry. Which will make the gingers of the world very happy. Plus, he is just so cute. I wonder when will they will have their second baby!
