The first trailer is out for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood that has Tom Hanks starring as Mister Rogers. If that is not enough reason to put a huge smile on your face, then the 2:26 seconds that come after you hit play will do just that.
Both men are pure goodness. There is no actor who could do a better job playing the legend, so I will be there on Thanksgiving seeing this movie. Because I am thankful that I had both of them to look up to when I was growing up.
And thankfully as This Is Us’ Susan Kelechi Watson warns her husband in the promo, it doesn’t ruin our childhoods. It just makes the make-believe a reality!
Riverdale already said that they will pay tribute to Luke Perry on their season premiere. Today at San Diego Comic-Con they announced that Shannen Doherty will be joining them on the standalone episode that airs on October 9th.
Riverdale’s executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told Entertainment Tonight that Perry had been trying for years to get his good friend on The CW show. When he started putting together this episode, he knew she needed to be involved.
The EP said, “There was a very emotional, important role and we sent the script to Shannen and she read it and loved it and said, ‘I want to do it,’ so it’s about honoring their friendship a little bit.” He did not say exactly what she will be doing, however, he did reveal that she will be helping his TV son (KJ Apa) deal with his father’s death.
The actress wrote, “I am deeply honored to pay tribute to Luke on Riverdale. The care in which this show takes in honoring his memory is beautiful. He is missed. Today. Tomorrow. Forever.”
I wonder how her BH90210 stars feel about this? Personally, out of all his former cast members, I think she is the best one for the job.
This was not the only Riverdale news to break during their panel. Dawson Creek’s Kerr Smith is taking over as Principal. He will be joining the show in episode 2 that is appropriately called Chapter Fifty-Nine: Fast Times at Riverdale High. I say that because they say Mr. Honey will take a harder line with the students kind of like how Mr. Hand was to Spicoli.
Back in 2010, Avatar sunk Titanic’s record as the highest-grossing film in the World. This weekend, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, announced at San Diego Comic-Con’s Avengers: Endgame took that title away from the little blue people. Oh wait, that is Smurfs. I still have never seen Avatar because everyone told me it was boring.
Anyways, Avengers did it in 12 weeks however it took Avatar around 30 weeks. While the Superheros took on the World, domestically that title still belongs to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Three movies I have not seen. In fact of the top 10, I have only seen two of them. Rounding out the list is Avengers: Infinity War, Jurassic World, Marvel’s The Avengers, Furious 7, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther. DC Comics really needs to amp up its movie game.
Avengers: Endgame takes on home video on the 30th, where I am sure it will break many records. What I assume will not break any records are the Avatar sequels that come out in 2021 and 2023.
YouTube released the trailer for Impulse’s second season and I am as out of breath as Henry (Maddie Hasson) after she teleports. Glad I have a few months to catch my breath before the drama debuts in the fall.
If you missed the thrilling first season, then you can watch it on YouTube now for free. Imagine being a teenager and finding out you can teleport, but don’t know how the power works? That is what Henry found out. She discovered the ability when she was trying to escape someone who was trying to rape. He was left critically injured when the truck they were imploded on itself. Some people, including his corrupt family, suspect of her being involved even though she was not at the scene for obvious reasons. That is just one of the many ways her life has changed for the worse since then.
