When I was growing up we pronounced Gyros as jie-rows, but then as I got older I was told they were pronounced yer-os. And to this day, I still don’t know how to pronounce it.
I am not the only one because yesterday on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon and Luke Bryan wrote a country song about it. A song that anyone who loves the lamb meat wrap will love to sing over and over. Especially when they order one.
I don’t know about you, but I am totally craving Gyro!
Back when I lived in Miami, my friends and I would scream out every word from Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby whenever it came on. I thought it was just something that people in the 305 did, but turns out it is not.
Yesterday on The Late Late Show, James Corden asked Dominic Monaghan who his first concert was and he told him it was MC Hammer. Then the Lost star told him that Hammer and Vanilla were his jam back then and to this day Ice Ice Baby is his go to Karaoke song. The CBS late night host asked him if he knew the words and he told them that he does. Then the two Brits belted out the first part of the song in the 323.
Proving that the song is still a Global hit over 25 years after it came out of A1A Beachfront Ave. Seriously, how impressive it is that they knew all the words off the top of their heads like that?
BTW am I the only person wondering why Charlie didn’t sing that song on the Island?
It’s Tuesday, and we all have the blahs. We all need something that is going to make us smile. What better way to do that than to watch our favorite Sesame Street Muppets read quotes from films like The Wizard of Oz, Top Gun, Forrest Gump, A Street Car Named Desire, Poltergeist, Naked Gun, The Karate Kid, The Terminator, A League of Their Own, A Few Good Men and so many more. The only one missing is Oscar the Grouch doing the infamous line from Network! Even that omission is not making me mad as Hell!
Seriously, didn’t this just sweep the clouds away? I know it did for me! How can you not chuckle when you head Elmo say, “There’s no crying in baseball.”
Hayden Panettiere took her daughter with her on trip, and then Kaya told her she had to go to the bathroom. Thus, the mom took her to the lavatory but the two year old missed the toilet and peed all over the floor.
While some celebrities would make the stewardesses clean it up, the Cheerleader got down on her hands and knees and did it herself. Well, not totally, Kaya also helped her out. Which means her sweet little girl isn’t going through the terrible twos. At least not in this awwwwwdorable photo.
