https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0D2_jhgtwE Still the King debuts on CMT tonight at 9p and it is funny look at the life of a one hit wonder years after his song came out.
Vernon Brownmule (Billy Ray Cyrus) had a big hit 20 years ago and he’s still living that wacky Rock star lifestyle. Only problem is that he doesn’t have the money and most people don’t remember who he is. Even though, he isn’t any where near as famous, he still acts like he is. So much so, he gets drunk one night, crashes his car in to a Church’s sign and finds himself in jail.
When he finally gets out, he is put on probation and can’t leave Tennessee. Not only can’t he leave, he finds out that he owes 15 years of back child support to a daughter he never knew he had. To make matters worse, he has to do community service at the Church he damaged.
The Church has a new minister starting there, but the Congregation has never met him. When Vernon finds out how much they make, he pretends to be that Minister. He then recruits his former band member’s son Walt (Travis Nicholson) to be his right hand man and help get him out of trouble. Which will be most of the time. Each week, it gets crazier and crazier and funnier to watch him try to save his butt again.
What is Vernon doing with the money he is earning from the Congregation? He is using it to pay his back child support so he can get to know his daughter (Madison Iseman) and reconnect with her mother (Joey Lauren Adams). Neither woman wants anything to do with him.
Will that change? Will he change? We will just have to watch this hilarious show each week to find out.
If you are like me and love shows that depict the Rock star lifestyle as wild as you imagine it to be, then you are going to love this show as much as I do.
Almost as much as you love Vernon. Cyrus plays him so horribly and yet so lovable, you can’t help but to love him and the show.
The Tonys are tonight on CBS and it almost seems kind of wrong for them to go on after the horrendous Pulse Shooting. But the show must go on and they are dedicating it to the 50 innocent lives that were taken away from us unnecessarily.
It will have a somber feel, but we can’t let the shooters win. They can try to break us, but we won’t let them.
Today we are all LGBTQ! Put your hate aside because look at what it caused.
What if your loved one was marrying someone you thought was completely wrong for them, what would you do? Tonight at 9p on Hallmark Channel, Stop the Wedding has two people ask that very question.
Anna (Rachel Boston), is a busy Divorce Lawyer from San Fransisco, who is visiting her Aunt Belle (Lini Evans), who raised her, in Seattle. The two women are having a nice conversation, but then the neighbor’s music is drowning out their chat. The two women go to confront him and find out he’s the very famous actor, Sean Castleberry (Alan Thicke) who is there filming a movie. After their confrontation, the woman go back to their house and Anna goes back home.
A month later she visits her Aunt and finds out she got engaged to Castleberry and they are getting married in two weeks. Anna loves her Aunt and thinks the actor, whose been married several times, is wrong for her. She is not alone, his son Clay (Niall Matter) feels the same way about her Aunt. Now the two of them, who hate each other, will work together to Stop the Wedding.
Anna and Clay have been too busy to find love, so do they even know what true love looks like? Are the two making the right choice by stopping the wedding? Are Belle and Sean right for each other?
You will have to tune into this delightful telemovie that leaves a huge smile on your face. It is so rare days to find a movie that is enjoyable from the beginning until the end and this is one of them. We all need to have some happiness on our weekends, and this film will do just that.

Two years ago, Christina Grimmie came out on to The Voice like a wrecking ball, and now we all feel like we were hit by wrecking ball after hearing about her senseless death. The 22 year old singer was and shot and killed last night while signing autographs after a show in Orlando, Fl.
Orlando police said a 27 year old man from Florida traveled to the concert armed with two handguns, 2 additional magazines and a hunting knife approached and shot her. Then her brother, Marcus Grimmie, tackled the shooter to the ground. The shooter then shot and killed himself. As of now, there is no motive for this horrific crime and it doesn’t seem like her knew her personally.
This will change the way we go to concerts and it will change the access we have to celebrities.
But now let’s not think about that, let’s remember Christina Grimmie and pray for her family and friends as they deal with the unimaginable. A young beautiful light snuffed out way before her time.
