Johnny Depp, Steven Tyler, Jim Carrey and who invited Adrien Brody?
July 30th, 2014 under Aerosmith, Jim Carrey, Johnny Depp. [ Comments: 1 ]

Steven Tyler Instagrammed this photo of himself with Johnny Depp, Jim Carrey and, I assume, a very stoned Adrien Brody. I get why the Aerosmith singer, Jack Sparrow and Ace Ventura are all hanging out like bros; but why is the guy from The Piano with them. Yes, he’s an Oscar winner, but he is no icon like the other three. I mean, I guess I can photoshop him out the photo to make it the most awesome picture since Liza Minnelli’s wedding one with Dame Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson. But he’s there so I’ll leave him.
Now forgetting about him, how bitching is it to see Depp, Carrey and Tyler hanging out together? Way like cool! Seriously, how is that fire alarm not going off? Because those three are too hot to handle! They are a total three-alarm fire.

BTWF ads: John Goodman for A&W Root Beer
July 30th, 2014 under Before They Were Famous, John Goodman. [ Comments: none ]

Before John Goodman was drinking beer on Roseanne, he was drinking A&W Root Beer. He looks the same now as he did when he was 31 in that 1984 ad.

Let’s help Jon Stewart buy CNN!
July 30th, 2014 under Comedy Central. [ Comments: none ]

Rupert Murdoch really wants to buy Time Warner and if he does, he will have to sell CNN. Jon Stewart really wants to buy it, when it goes on sale but he needs our money to make that happen. I say we need to help him out. Could you imagine if the Daily Show host ran the Cable News Network? Oh wait, it would be less funny than it is now. But maybe not.
So everyone go to Let’s Buy CNN, and contribute to this noble cause.

Sharknado 2: The Second One is better than the first one!!!
July 30th, 2014 under Syfy. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p, the much anticipated sequel to Sharknado premieres on Syfy and it actually tops the first one.
It starts out with April (Tara Reid) and Fin (Ian Ziering) on a plane going to NYC when they are attacked by a Sharknado. Eventually Fin safely lands the plane and they travel to Manhattan by ambulance. Once they are in the hospital and April is out of surgery, Fin realizes that a Sharknado is about to munch down on the Big Apple. He calls his sister, who is on Ellis Island with his niece, and tells her to find her way to safety. She tells him that her husband is at the Mets game and he needs to go save them.
So off he goes to fight the sharks at Shea Stadium, and you thought the fans were the ones you needed to be afraid of. (I am Bronx born Mets fan, so I can say that). Once, they strike out the sharks, it is time to get back to Manhattan. But not before they tackle some more sharks on the subway. Once they finally make it back to their destination, they get some help from Taxi driver Judd Hirsch who tries to get them to their where they going. Which is kind of hard because it’s raining sharks.
Now they will do everything to get rid of these flipping sharks with the help from the likes of Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Kelly Ripa, Michael Strahan and whole bunch of other cameos of people who wanted to be part of last year’s biggest phenomenon.
What made Sharknado so perfect is that the movie didn’t take itself seriously. What makes the sequel even better is they somehow found a way to take themselves even less seriously.
So tune into Syfy tonight to watch the movie because you don’t want to be left out of the Sharknado storm of watercooler talk about it at work tomorrow.
There are two drinking games. One for the heavy weights, drink every time you see a shark. The second one if for lighter weights, drink every time you can’t believe they just did that. Both will get you very drunk! Thus the water cooler talk tomorrow.

Hot In Cleveland gets animated and The CW tries to Fool Us!
July 30th, 2014 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 10p Hot In Cleveland goes to places it has never gone to before. The TV Land sitcom gets animated and they have more fun then they’ve ever had before.
It has been four years since Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli), Joy (Jane Leeves) and Victoria (Wendie Malick) have moved to Cleveland and they want to celebrate. So they go to Elka’s (Betty White) place, a place they’ve never been to before to share in the joyous moment with her. At first she doesn’t want to let them in, but eventually she does.
Once they are inside they all turn into a cartoons, and George Clooney is a talking dog. How? You see Elka’s place is over a portal to another dimension, an animated one. So the 4 women tour the cartoonish Cleveland and they run into Steven Tyler at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He grants them three wishes and those wishes take them to other places. The first place they go to is Willy Wonka world and we find out that our cast can sing. Their next adventure is a Walking Dead/Weird Science type of scenario. The final wish includes LeBron James being The Wizard of Oz. Trippy enough for you?
Eventually, they give up on their wishes and return home to the place they’ve known for four years. Which in a way is kind of a bummer because this is the funniest episode of the show’s over 100 episode run. They had so much fun in this one, and they did and said things they never would do or say if they weren’t drawn. I mean its like the writers threw everything at the wall and whatever stuck they went with, which is perfect because it all made for one beautiful high-larious episode. One you don’t want to miss because it is the best animated episode I’ve ever seen on TV.

Meanwhile over at The CW, they have their own magic going on with Penn & Teller in Fool Us. The two legendary magicians watch as other unknown magicians show them their acts. If the Vegas Duo can’t figure out how they did it, then they get to perform with them in the City of Sin. So after the contestants perform for the audience and the judges, Penn & Teller try to explain to everyone how they did it. They will go up and look at their props to see if that reveals their secret. By doing so we get to learn a magic or should I say foolery. Whatever you call it, I call it fun!
So tune in for a magical competition show unlike anything you’ve ever see on television before!
