Jordan Journalists are more fun than the ones in the US!
May 8th, 2014 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

So two journalists in Jordan were debating about the Syrian war and they got into a very heated argument. Unlike here in America where they just use their words, Shaker al-Johari and Mohammad al-Jayousi used the desk that was between them. That’s right they picked it up and were pushing at each other until top and bottom part got separated. Then they used the top of it as a shield/fighting device until the producers sadly came in and broke it up. Proving even in Jordan, they get their desks at Ikea.
But being serious for second, now that CNN brought back Crossfire, they should get their people to fight on air like these two men. I bet their ratings would go up faster than that desktop!

Zac Efron blames Dave Franco’s balls of steel for breaking his hand!
May 8th, 2014 under Jimmy Fallon, Zac Efron. [ Comments: none ]

Zac Efron got so much cuter during yesterday’s interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. The High School Musical star was anything but innocent as he cursed not once, but twice during their 4 minute chat. The first time he did it was when he was referencing how Seth Rogen would get him to take his shirt off constantly during filming of their movie Neighbors that is out tomorrow. He said that Rogen would tell him to do it and yet the camera wasn’t on him or he already filmed that scene with one on. Eventually he realized that “he was f*cking with” him. Then as their conversation went on, Zac was talking about something that Rogen does in the movie to him and he tells the NBC late night host he was like “how the f*ck did he do that?” At that point the Fallon was like this interview is done before tossing to a clip from “f*cking” Neighbors. His word, not mine. What made this so cute, is the second time that Zac used the F-word, he blushed and was extremely embarrassed. You have to love him for being so real and raw! It works on him.
Now what didn’t work for him was the fight scene he shot with Dave Franco. The two did their own stunts in the movie and when the actors had a brawl scene, Efron broke his hand. Fallon wanted to know how he did it because there were no punches to the face just ball grabs. So Zac explained, “Those Franco brothers must have balls of steel.” Good to know.

Fox cancels 3 funny sitcoms and 1 crappy drama, NBC sweet 16 news for SVU
May 7th, 2014 under Fox, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Fox made my DVR very happy and me very upset because they cancelled Dads, Enlisted and Surviving Jack today according to The Hollywood Reporter. Oh and they also pulled the plug on Rake, but no one cared about that show so it’s barely even worth a mention.
When it comes to the comedies, they made a huge mistake by cancelling all 3. Dads had a core audience and was the only comedy that started in the fall that made me laugh. Plus it really found its groove by the end of the season. Enlisted had a different fan base than Dads, but they were just as loyal to the very funny heartwarming show. That’s because they fought for our country. Finally Surviving Jack was screwed the second they put it on after the dying American Idol. The endearing sitcom never had a chance which is really sad because it deserved one.
But at least Fox still has the gag me with spoon Glee on for another season and that show was barely seen by 2 million people yesterday. How low can they go?
The television news wasn’t all awful today, NBC was smart enough to renew Law & Order: SVU for a 16th season. I wonder whose happier, the fans of the show or the networks that air the repeats on an endless loop all day long? I’ll go with the latter.

BTWF roles: Eva Mendes in Children of the Corn V
May 7th, 2014 under Before They Were Famous, Eva Mendes. [ Comments: none ]

(starts at 8:22 in)

Before Eva Mendes was a homicide detective in Out of Time, she needed one in Children of the Corn V. She looks the same now as she did when she was 23 in that 1998 movie.
