Sean Saves the World and NBC’s Thursday nights!
October 3rd, 2013 under Sean Hayes. [ Comments: none ]

Sean Hayes is back in front of the television camera tonight at 9p on NBC with Sean Saves the World and you don’t want to miss the best comedy to happen to NBC’s Thursday nights since Will & Grace ended. This sitcom reminds me of the days when Thursdays were must watch on NBC, so I know you are going to love this show as much as I do.
Sean’s ex-wife has left town and decided to give him full custody of his teenage daughter, Ellie (Samantha Isler). Since he let his ex raise her, he is new to this whole parenting thing. Good thing his overbearing and yet surprisingly hip mother (Linda Lavin) will be there to tell him what to do all the time. Which Sean isn’t exactly happy about because he doesn’t think Lorna did the best job raising him. Something you will see in a future episode and it will have you laughing for weeks after you see it. Like a lot of the jokes on the show.
Sean’s life isn’t only changing at home, it is also changing at work. He has a new boss, Max (Thomas Lennon) who is so uptight he can turn coal into diamonds if you know what I mean. He expects Sean and everyone on the staff including his friend, Hunter (Echo Kellum) to work long hours. Those hours will make it difficult for him to spend time with his daughter, so he will do everything his power to disobey his boss. That will lead to a lot of tension between them and a lot of laughs for us.
Then next week you will meet his best friend, Liz (Megan Hilty), who knew he gay the second she met him as a caterer at his wedding to his ex-wife. And maybe she made a mistake announcing that fact on that day, but hey he still has her and not his ex so it all worked out. I should mention that his mother hates her and the feeling is mutual. So Sean and Ellie will find themselves in the middle of their fights.
In fact Sean will find himself in the middle of it all and somehow he will save the world that he lives in!
This is a throwback to the classic sitcom formula, but modernized for today’s world. So it is something everyone can enjoy because it both old and new at the same time. And we need more of these sitcoms on our TVs because they sincerely do make the world a better place. And Sean Saves the World is definitely a show that does that. So watch it tonight and every Thursday at 9p.

Don’t take my word for it, here is how the actors and producers from the show feel about it. I recently went to the set and they all told me how much love the show and Sean Hayes.

Sean Hayes
: “I love playing this character because it is very close to me, as far as maturing over time. I am a very quiet, grounded, private person for the most part in life. So I like that and it is a 180 from Jack McFarland from Will & Grace. In that Jack was irresponsible, flighty, flaky, promiscuous, all those things that this character isn’t. This character is responsible and grounded, has a job, goal oriented all of those things. It’s fun to be the one who puts out the fires and be the voice of reason on the show.”

Linda Lavin: “I like this character very much. She has a spirit. I think that Sean and her have a similar sense of humor, so they spar with each other and they challenge each other. I like that about her.”

Thomas Lennon: “Honestly, this is the best job I have ever had. I love playing the villain. I love getting to ruin the fun time everyone is having. It is basically the dream role for me.”

Echo Kellum: On Megan Hilty – “I was a little worried about Megan actually because seeing just the stuff on Smash, she looks kind of mean. But she’s so funny, so sill and so awesome. It is a pleasure to work with her.”

Executive Producer Todd Milliner: On his producing partner Sean Hayes (Hot In Cleveland, Grimm, Hollywood Game Night, The Soul Man and SStW – “I think he waited the right amount of time to go back, so I think he is ready to be back on TV in a full basis.”

The Millers make a big bang entrance and The Originals details it origins!
October 3rd, 2013 under CBS, The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 8:30p The Millers makes its debut and it’s the perfect show for CBS’s Thursday lineup. When I first watched the sitcom, I didn’t like it. Then I watched it again today and found myself laughing out loud several times. In fact, I will openly admit that the show has officially won me over.
Jack (Will Arnett) gets a call that his parents are coming to visit his sister and him because his dad, Tom (Beau Bridges), flooded the basement. He is really not looking forward to their visit, not only because they are the way that they are, but because he hasn’t told him he got a divorce. When he finally tells them the truth, his dad tells him mom, Carol (Margo Martindale), he wants a divorce from her so he can be happy. Now Tom is going to live with his daughter, Debbie (Jayma Mays) and Jack gets his mom. Needless to say both kids are miserable with one of their parents living with them.
Carol is very controlling and has killer gas and Tom is nicknamed Forrest Gump for a reason. So how will the kids handle having their parent live with them? We will have to tune in to find out every Thursday at 8:30p before The Crazy Ones to find out.

Then at 9p change the dial over to The CW for the series premiere of The Originals. Elijah (Daniel Gillies) has gone to New Orleans to see his brother, Klaus (Joseph Morgan). He comes across the witches and finds out that Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) is now ruling the town and won’t let them perform magic. Elijah also finds out that his brother got a werewolf pregnant and now he will do what he can to protect Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) so that she will be able to deliver his niece or nephew safely. How will Klaus handle being a father? Can the Originals and the Witches take down Marcel and his Vampires? Will Hayley carry this baby to term and what will her pregnancy be like? We will tune in every Tuesday at 8p after tonight to find out.
I might be in the minority when I say this, but I sincerely enjoy The Originals so much more than the show it spun off of, The Vampire Diaries. There is just something so much better about it and I hope that it keeps the feel it has during the season premiere.

The first new show to get a second season is…
October 3rd, 2013 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

The first new show that will be back next fall is the first one that debuted this year. Fox announced that Sleepy Hollow was picked up for a second season, but didn’t announce whether or not the show would get an extended first season. Which I am assuming it will not.
I am so happy about this news because this is my favorite new drama of the fall. It has proven to be witty, funny, suspenseful and enjoyable and no other fall drama can say that.

Miley Cyrus and clothes just don’t get along
October 3rd, 2013 under Miley Cyrus. [ Comments: 1 ]

Miley Cyrus Instagrammed this photo of how long her hair is getting, but I don’t think she wants you to look at her hair. Can someone buy this girl some clothes because I am sick of looking at her nearly naked body. Yes she has a good figure, but that doesn’t me we want to see it all the time.

UPDATE: Terry Richardson posted a few pictures he took of Miley Cyrus and some of them are NSFW. Here are the ones that are safe for work, and even they show that clothes are her are not seeing eye-to-eye these days.
