I guess you can tear INXS apart
November 12th, 2012 under Music. [ Comments: none ]

After 35 years of being together, the death of their voice in 1997 and a reality show to find a new singer, INXS has finally decided to call it quits. Yesterday at a concert in Perth Jon Farriss announced that that would be their last show together as a band according to Sidney Morning Herald. No reason was given for their sudden split, but if you ask me it was 15 years too late. They should’ve ended the band after Michael Hutchence died. Without him they were never ever the same, he made them. He was a presence that could never be duplicated, no matter how hard they tried. I saw them in concert with him once and he really knew how to put on a show. For the encore he called the audience, and I do mean the audience, on to the stage and it was crazy. I never saw anyone do that before and never saw anyone do it again. Sadly a short time afterwards he was no longer with us. It was such a tragic loss to the music industry and still is.

Family Guy turns 200 by turning back time in yuG ylimaF
November 11th, 2012 under Uncategorized. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p on Fox the once cancelled Family Guy celebrates a huge milestone. Seth MacFarlane’s first cartoon turns 200 tonight, something that at one time never seemed like it would ever be possible.
And on that note, time is a big part of tonight’s episode. Brian has been inviting over women he meets at bars and letting them try out the time machine. When one of them notices that the machine belongs to Stewie and won’t he be mad that he is using it; Brian acts like it no big deal. That is until she points that is has a years used speedometer on it. So he freaks out and tries to reverse those numbers. Only problem is also reverses time and everything is going backwards. So by doing that we get to relive some of favorite moments from the show’s last 199 episode, but in reverse.
Now Stewie and Brian have to figure out how to get time moving forward again before the baby goes back in to Lois and ceases to exist. Will they be able to figure it out or will the next 200 episodes be going backwards instead of forward? You have to tune in for one of the best Family Guy episodes in a really long time to find out.

A drunk Daniel Craig asked Sam Mendes to direct Skyfall!
November 11th, 2012 under James Bond, Jimmy Kimmel. [ Comments: none ]

Daniel Craig was on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Friday and he told the ABC late night host how he got Sam Mendes to direct Skyfall. Bond, James Bond was at Hugh Jackman’s birthday party, having a few drinks and he started talking to Sam Mendes. He figured that he would pick his brain on what he would do with the next Bond movie and then he decided to ask him to do it. Well the next morning he woke up hungover and was like what did I do? He called his producers and lucky for him they liked the idea of the Oscar winner directing the 23rd movie in the franchise. See anything can happen in Hollywood!
Craig, Daniel Craig also told Kimmel about another director who wasn’t as lucky after meeting him. Quentin Tarantino told Craig that he wanted to direct a 007 movie, but nothing came of that. Personally I think he would be an awful choice, so Craig did the right thing.
So directors of the world if you want to direct a Bond movie, just ask Daniel Craig when he is too drunk to realize what he is asking!

Make a date with the Wedding Band tonight!
November 10th, 2012 under TNT/TBS/TCM. [ Comments: none ]

Want to go to a wedding tonight, but don’t want to deal with all the stuff that comes with? Then you are going to want to watch the Wedding Band on TBS at 10p.
Tommy (Brian Austin Green) is the lead singer for the most nontraditional wedding band, but yet they make beautiful music. Tommy is single, and he wants to keep it that way. Eddie (Peter Cambor) is happily married with kids yet the band get him to do things he doesn’t want to do. Barry (Derek Miller) is the guy you expect to be in a band. Session musician Stevie (Harold Perrineau) is the latest addition to the group and he completes them.
These guys know how to live the Wedding Band life and you will live it through them! As funny and enjoyable the show is the music is what makes it. You have to hear their renditions of their songs because they are all better than the original.
