The Barrens is out now in a Blu-ray combo pack and this movie will make you never want to camp again. It is movies like this one that is why I have never gone camping and I never will.
Richard Vineyard (Stephen Moyer) takes his family to New Jersey Pine Barrens for a camping trip and they will never be the same. Vineyard went there as a kid and he is convinced that he was chased by the Jersey Devil back then. Now decades later he thinks he the urban legend that has been haunting the area for over 400 years is back and after him. This hallucination will get him and his wife (Mia Kirshner), his daughter (Allie MacDonald) and their son (Peter DaCunha) lost in the woods fighting for their lives. But is his family’s life being threatened by the unknown Jersey Devil or the man they know better than anyone. You will have to watch this terrifying movie to find out.
Even though this movie scared the sh!t out of me, I couldn’t stop watching and wanting to know how the suspenseful flick ended.
And on that note the Blu-ray combo pack includes an alternate ending that I am happy the producers were able to get removed from the final product. They explain that in the commentary included with that scene and you can hear their other thoughts in the audio commentary during the movie.
Before Shannon Woodward was working at a grocery store on Raising Hope, she was just a little girl working out on Clarissa Explains It All. How awwwwdorable was the 7 year old in that 1991 episode?
Tonight at 8p on Raising Hope a social worker is sent to The Chances to investigate a child abuse claim, but she will change her course of action and be looking into how they treat Maw Maw (Cloris Leachman) instead. Now for you and me who watch the show every week, we know why they treat Maw Maw the way they do. But to an outsider it might seem like abuse and if they don’t clean up their act she will be taken from their home and put in a home. Will they be able to do everything on the social worker’s list or will Maw Maw be getting her own show Losing Hope? You have to tune into the very funny first part of the two-parter to find out.
Here’s a little spoiler as laugh out loud as tonight’s episode is, next week’s conclusion will have you laughing so hard you will need Depends just like Maw Maw. But you don’t want to miss a single laugh by not watching the show tonight on Fox at 8p.
Matthew Perry is a guest on Ellen today and he got very excited about something Ellen DeGeneres mentioned in her monologue. The daytime talk show host talked about a local service that sends out Topless Maids to clean your house. Well once the Friends star heard that he wanted her to Go On about their services. So much so that during a commercial break the two of them called 818-666-HUGE to learn more and sounded like he wanted to employee all of their girls to tidy up his messy house with their t!tties. You know Matthew, I am willing to save you a few bucks and clean your house topless. And in exchange I would like you to be topless too!!! I think that is fair exchange!
BTW I was happy to hear that they offer topless men to do the dirty work too because they are so much more useful than those strippers I hire to entertain me.

Last week during the first Presidential Debate Mitt Romney said that he would stop funding PBS if he was elected even though he is a fan of Big Bird and the late night shows ran with that. SNL, The Tonight Show, Conan and so on all came up with spoof videos, so when I saw Barak Obama’s latest ad I thought it was a joke. I mean it seems more like something that those shows would do rather than what the President’s camp would do. Could be because I watched all of those fake videos before the real one. Doesn’t it almost feel like a joke to you.
And you better watch it while you can because Sesame Street wants to educate them on their stance on politics. Sesame Workshop posted this statement on their site, “Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns. We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down.” It will be interesting to see if they do because I mean in their defense it was a smart thing to do after Big Bird’s boom after the debate. More people talked about our favorite yellow winged friend instead of the candidates for the next few days.
