Today was supposed to be the first table read for Modern Family’s new season but it was abruptly cancelled because Ty Burell, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara have rejected their latest contract offers. The 5 actors want higher salaries and have rejected the rumored $150,000 an episode offer because they want more according to Deadline Hollywood. Yes I understand they are all nominated for Emmys, but do they really need that much money? Yes their show brings me a lot of happiness and I would miss it if it were gone, but I just thinking putting the show at jeopardy over their greed isn’t worth it. People can’t feed their kids or their rent in these tough economic times and they want millions of dollars each. I say if they get that raise, I want to see them donate some of their earnings. Because let’s be real before Modern Family how many of those actors could you name even though they were working actors? Only one, thought so.
Leonard Nimoy might have retired from acting, but that isn’t stopping him from throwing his pointed ears into the American Idol judging mix. Here is what Spock Tweeted this morning, “Mariah Carey got the ‘American Idol’ job replacing Jennifer Lopez. I was hoping to get the call. I would have been less expensive. LLAP” I really hope that Fox considers this because I think he would be perfect for the show. He has singing experience and he has worked with Fox on Fringe, so that is great. Plus what would be my ultimate fantasy is that when he doesn’t like a singer, he can say “Beam me up Scotty” and we all know what he means. There is no intelligent life on this show.

On Sunday The Bachelorette ended with Jef Holm proposing to Emily Maynard and now a part the fiance’ is going to have her own show. Yesterday on Jimmy Kimmel Live they debuted who the next Bachlorette is going to be and it is Jef’s missing F. That’s right the recently engaged guy’s name is really Jeff, but he made a deal to lose a F so that she could have her show when his was done. Now it is her time shine and it looks like she is going to find love. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait because it looks f’ing awesome.
BTW I feel bad for the actor who auditioned for the role and then found out he would be dry f’ing a stuffed letter F. Do you tell your parents you are going to be on television or do you say F it?
Matthew McConaughey was on Late Night yesterday and Jimmy Fallon challenged him to a game of Cooler Scooter Race. Basically the two men rode around the studio twice on scooter with a cooler on the seat and a motorized beer cap on their heads. As stupid as that game is, it is that much fun to watch and you don’t need one of those hats they are wearing to enjoy it.
BTW is anyone surprised by who won? Seems like it was a given.
