Paranormal Witness will freak you the f*ck out!!!
September 7th, 2011 under Syfy. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight on Syfy at 10p Paranormal Witness is going to debut and this show is going to scare the sh!t out of you. On PW people tell their harrowing tales of their encounters with the paranormal as the show recreates what happened to them. The suspense as they share their horrifying experiences as you watch it unfold will freak you the f*ck out.
I, who watch horror movies with my eyes wide open, was starting to go under the sheets as I watched as a family tell the story of an entity that was haunting them and their 5 year old daughter. The spirit was so evil it will telling their little girl she can jump out her second floor window and it would catch her. You have to watch the show to see what was the final nail in the coffin to get them to leave their haunted house.
And once their story ends, you will watch as a family learns the hard way that trying to help a young girl in distress on the road isn’t always a good idea.
Part of me can’t wait for the next episode and then the other part of me is like my heart doesn’t know if it can handle another one.

Jimmy Kimmel fulfills his Uncle Frank’s wish with a touching eulogy
September 7th, 2011 under Jimmy Kimmel. [ Comments: none ]

Two weeks after Jimmy Kimmel’s and our Uncle Frank passed away at the age of 77 from cancer, the late night host got to honor him last night. During his monologue that was really a eulogy to him, Kimmel played a message that Uncle Frank left on his answering machine. In that voice mail the former-NYC cop had a request for his nephew, “Jimmy, hey Jimmy. This is your Uncle Frank, Jimmy. Jimmy, I am with you all the way, in fact Jim I am a lot older than you and I will die a lot before…I want you to do wholeogy (eulogy). You know what that is, the talk, OK. Don’t memorize the wholeogy, let it come out naturally. OK, see you. I love you so much. And eat, make sure you eat.” And for 16 minutes that is what he did and he did so in such a way whether you were related him by blood or by watching him on Jimmy Kimmel Live, you feel a great loss in your life for a man whose innocence and good naturedness is something to aspire to.
Jimmy taking advice from what your Uncle Frank used to give strangers, he is very very very proud of you! You really did him proud last night.
Since ABC did not post the full 16 minute eulogy as am embedded clip. you can watch it over at Jimmy’s heartfelt words on ABC.com. While it is not his normally funny monologues that we are used to, his sincerity and love for his uncle was so touching it will make you fall in love with the ABC host in a whole new way. I wish I was at the taping yesterday to give him a hug, but I am sure he got many hugs from all the other people that love him and are proud of him like I am.

Hercules Hercules! Eddie Murphy is going to host the Oscars!
September 6th, 2011 under Eddie Murphy, Oscars. [ Comments: none ]

OMG! Eddie Murphy is going to host the Oscars this year and I am so excited. Oh wait, it’s 2011 and not 1991 scratch that.
Hopefully he will do a better job than he did with Vampire in Brooklyn, Holy Man, Bowfinger, Showtime, The Adventures of Pluto Nash, I Spy, Daddy Day Care, The Haunted Mansion, Norbit, Meet Dave, Imagine That and Tower Heist. Oh wait, we haven’t seen the last one just yet, but that is how he got the job. Brett Ratner who directed the movie is producing this year’s Academy Awards. I wonder if they will regret their decision after Tower Heist bombs at the box office. Kind of like that year when they got Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin to host the show together after they were in that film, you know the name of it. It was a huge hit, the big movie of the holiday season. C’mon…
It is too late to get James Franco back? I kid, Eddie Murphy should do better than him. That is if he remembers how funny he was when he first started out in the business and was a 19 year old kid on Saturday Night Live. I miss the Raw Eddie Murphy, maybe he bring back Buckwheat on February 26th because I don’t believe he is dead. Heck maybe he can even bring back his Marvelous SNL co-star Billy Crystal to help him out on the big night!!!
BTW can I do one of those annoying toldjas because the day after Brett Ratner got the job I predicted that he would get the stars of his upcoming dud Tower Heist, Eddie Murphy and/or Ben Stiller to host the show. Actually it wasn’t as much of a prediction as plea for it not to happen. I guess considering how it turned out, I would so rather have Eddie Murphy do it than Ben Stiller.

BTWF roles: Holland Taylor on The Edge of Night
September 6th, 2011 under Before They Were Famous. [ Comments: none ]

Before Holland Taylor was a law professor in Legally Blonde, she needed a lawyer on The Edge of Night. She looks the same now as she did when she was 35 in that 1978 soap.
