Showtime has decided to cancel United States of Tara and renew Nurse Jackie according to Variety. I am surprised that they would cancel a show that actually got them an Emmy, but then again I haven’t been able to watch that show since the pilot. When I got the screeners for the third season of both shows, I actually stopped watching mid-way through the episodes because I couldn’t stand either show. I give every screener a chance, but these shows were such sh!t I couldn’t put myself through it.
Both shows reach a certain audience and I am not that audience. Well doesn’t look like Tara was that many people’s either. I think it had a good concept, but it went in such a weird direction it became unwatchable. On that note, can someone explain the appeal of Nurse Jackie to me? I just don’t get why so many people think this show is the sh!t, when the only scene that caught my attention was when a dead rat fell down from the ceiling at the hospital and landed on one of the nurse’s lunch. I think that says it all for anyone who has never seen the show.
ABC cut away when Rihanna gave Britney Spears a kiss at the Billboard Awards, but the family friendly network didn’t have a problem showing a minor kissing a woman who isn’t one. Granted Justin Bieber is newly 17 and his cougar is almost 19, why is it OK to show their smooch and not the other one?
I know my argument is stupid, but it was just as stupid of ABC not to show the kiss. And it was also just as stupid as the S&M singers to do it for attention because there are much better ways to do it.
BTW I know I am not alone in not wanting to see Justin Bieber kiss Selena Gomez, there are millions of teenage girls who agree with me.
Back in 2003 Madonna and Britney Spears shared a lip lock at the VMAs and MTV showed it. Eight years later when Rihanna does the same thing to Brit at the Billboard Awards, ABC cuts away to the audience and doesn’t show it. This isn’t the first time ABC has cut a same-sex kiss from a music awards show, they also did the same thing to Adam Lambert two years ago at the AMAs.
C’mon ABC it is 2011 there is nothing wrong with a same-sex kiss, so get over it. I am not a prude, but I thought all those Rihanna crotch shots were a lot more offensive than her kissing the Toxic singer.

Matt Morrison was performing at the Goodman Theatre 10th Anniversary Gala and the Glee star was very expressive as he sang. Looking at those facial expressions, I can’t tell if that is his “O” face or the one he makes when he is taking a major dump. Which one do you think it is?
I never thought anyone could look more constipated than Lea Michele when they sang, but I think her co-star beats her out. And that is not pretty thing.
