Color me shocked because Casey Affleck said his documentary about Joaquin Phoenix going from Oscar nominated actor to a rapper is a fake. Casey broke the jaw-dropping news to The NY Times today by saying, “I never intended to trick anybody. The idea of a quote, hoax, unquote, never entered my mind.†So for a year and a half he made his brother in law go around unshaven, look like a complete mess and pretend to be a rapper; and then only after negative reviews he finally admits his documentary is a mockumentary. I think he has a lot of nerve to say he never meant to trick anybody especially after the infamous David Letterman interview, I am sure the Late Show host would say he was tricked because Affleck admitted in the article that Letterman was not in on the joke. One person who was in on the joke was Joaquin’s agent according to what he told the paper, “Patrick Whitesell, of William Morris Endeavor Entertainment. On telling Mr. Whitesell that he planned to make everybody believe that a prized client ‘has lost his mind and make him as unattractive as possible, you would think he would have me killed immediately,’ Mr. Affleck said. But Mr. Whitesell, instead, took a part in the film.”
Now that you I’m Still Here is a officially a fake, does it make you want to see more or less? I think I will wait for it to come on cable now, not that I ever thought it was real but the illusion that it might be was part of the fun. If he admitted from the get go it was fake, I think I would have wanted to have seen it more.
Before Casey Affleck was known as the acting family The Afflecks of Boston, he was acting as member of the most famous family from his own state in The Kennedys of Massachusetts. How cute was the 15 year old in that 1990 mini-series.
I am speechless after watching Snooki lipsyncing Britney Spears especially since the Jersey Shore star did a worse job at it than Ashlee Simpson did with mouthing the words on Saturday Night Live.
I wonder if that was her audition for American Idol because they are now accepting online auditions. You know since The Situation has Dancing with the Stars, she wants to have her own reality show that it isn’t the MTV one that made her a household name.
Mark Wahlberg is starring in the true story of The Fighter Mickey Ward and after watching the trailer, I think he will be nominated for another Oscar and Christian Bale and Amy Adams will also get noms. Seriously doesn’t that movie looks like the Rocky for our generation.
Boxing movies are not really my thing, but I really want to get in the ring with The Fighter when it comes out on December 10th!
Anyone who has ever seen Don Rickles being interviewed (if you haven’t YouTube him because you missing out on a true genius), know he is quick with the insults and never lets the host like Craig Ferguson up him on the yucks. Well that all changed yesterday when the 84 year old comedian was on CBS’s The Late Late Show, and it wasn’t the host that left the legend speechless but it was a Robot Skeleton that goes by the name Geoff Peterson! Rickles made the mistake of asking Craig, or as he calls him Greg, “When does the dummy talk?” After that the blue eyed mechanical-boned showed him who’s boss! Seriously you have to watch their interaction because it will leave you ROTFLYAO!!!
But that wasn’t the only hysterical part of the interview and that is why I am not telling where Geoff silenced Don Rickles because it is well worth it to watch the whole thing!
