The Buggles will forever be in music history because their song Video Killed the Radio Star was the first ever music video to be shown on MTV back in 1981. Well since that premiere the band has rarely played together live, but that is going to change next month! Trevor Horn announced on his web site that The 3 original members are reuniting for one live show on September 28th.
He did not say why that charity got them out of their band’s retirement, but it is sounds like an amazing nonprofit to get them all back together.
Hopefully one of those special guest stars will be Oscar winner Hans Zimmer who can be seen in the video Video Killed the Radio Star. One of my best friends has been trying to get me to go visit her in London and I might just do it to see The Buggles perform their debut album live because it doesn’t sound like we will ever have another chance to do it. Seriously how cool would it be to see the band that launched MTV perform live and in person!!!
So you know how Twitter suggests people you should follow? Most of us don’t personally know those people they tell us to follow. So imagine if you are celeb and you log on to Twitter to Tweet and it tells you to follow your ex and your competition. That would totally suck, right? Well this how Jimmy Kimmel described it when it happened to him, “Why is my “who to follow” feature intentionally F-ing with me?” Too bad Matt Damon isn’t on Twitter because that would be beyond cruel if Twitter’s “who to follow” told him to follow Sarah K Silverman and Matt Damon at the same. It would bring up that memory when she told him, “I’m f*cking Matt Damon” and we all know what happened shortly afterwards…
BTW oh to be a fly on the computer when Jimmy Kimmel went on to Twitter and saw Conan O’Brien and Sarah K Silverman under “who to follow”!!! I could just imagine his face, kind of like when Sarah surprised him with I’m f*cking Matt Damon on the show.
Before Breckin Meyer was trying to get a collar on Garfield, he was describing a collar on Child’s Play. How awwwdorable was the 8 year old on that 1982 game show. If it wasn’t for a few facial movements, I never would have believed that was him.
And there is a bonus celeb on their…Before people wanted Tara Reid’s autograph, she was describing wanting one on Child’s Play. The 7 year old Tara was so freaking cute with pigtails and without her front teeth during that 1982 game show appearance!
All day I have been hearing about Jackie Evancho and how she wowed everyone on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, but I didn’t watch it until now. Now I know how Britain felt when Susan Boyle sang that first on Britain’s Got Talent because that is how I felt when I heard that big voice come out of that little 10 year old girl. Can you believe she is only 10? Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
I am so glad that AGT added the YouTube auditions to the show this season because if they hadn’t we might not have ever had gotten to opportunity to hear that angelic voice. Just wow! She left me speechless.
Just like Dan Sperry left Howie Madel hysterical and Sharon Osbourne in hysterics.
