2010 has been Betty White’s year and as a way of saying thank you to us for making it her year, she did a calendar for 2011 so we can enjoy her 365 days a year! If that calendar is filled with pictures like the one Miss White did for March, I will be Marching to get one when it becomes available in September from Workman Publishing for the reasonable price of $12.99. I mean what more do you need, you have the Golden Girl and men who have become golden thanks to the sun! I wouldn’t mind having to look at that for five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes!
BTW if we needed another reason to love the Hot in Cleveland landlady, she is donating all proceeds from the calendar to The Morris Animal Foundation based in Denver, Co.
Before Megan Mullally was a struggling mother on Party Down, she was a struggling mom The Ellen Burstyn Show. If it wasn’t for her voice, I never would have known that that 27 year old actress in that 1986 episode is the same woman we know today.
So every summer we get at least one movie that parodies the other big movies and on August 18th we are getting Vampires Suck. This film will mainly be spoofing those little Twilight movies and it is about time someone made fun of those flicks on the big screen because those films scream make fun of me!
Part of me is like I can’t wait to see this movie, but then the other part of me just watched Dance Flick and Stan Helsing and I didn’t laugh once watching them so I am afraid that VS will be the same unfunny crap. And I found myself chuckling more watching that trailer than I did watching those other 2 films combined.
That and the thing that Vampires Suck has that the other ones didn’t is that it is written and directed by the same guys who did Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, and Disaster Movie, and when it comes to spoof movies those are the better ones of the bunch.
TV Land the network that airs classic shows like Three’s Company, Roseanne and All in the Family to name a few decided to branch out into their own scripted programming with Hot in Cleveland and that decision has proven to be such a huge success that they picked up for a second. The show’s season premiere was watched by almost 5 million people and since that airing it has kept a majority of the audience and it is the most buzzed about show this summer. Granted it didn’t hurt that they have the hottest woman in the entertainment on the show, but the sitcom is so much more than Betty White! It is also about Valerie Bertinelli, Wendie Malick and Jane Leeves and the chemistry between the four women along with the hysterical writing. I can’t wait to see what those writers will come up with for them when the show comes back in January for a 20 episode second season.
If it is anything like tonight’s hot episode with Huey Lewis and Amy Yasbeck, it is going to make the coldest winter day in Cleveland feel very very hot. On tonight’s episode on TV Land at 10p the girls go to a party at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because Wendie Malick decides to get revenge on her ex-rocker boyfriend (Huey Lewis) and Valerie Bertinelli wants to meet her favorite rock star (Amy Yasbeck) ever. Things do not go well for Valerie when she meets her music icon, but I don’t want to kiss and tell about how bad it goes because you will want to see what happens! There were so many awesome sexual innuendos and crazy antics done by the whole cast tonight that it truly reminded me of The Golden Girls’ comedic genius. I haven’t felt that way about any sitcom since the last one that Betty White starred in with 3 other talented women. One last note about tonight’s episode someone needs to give Amy Yasbeck a show ASAP because she brilliant!!! Oh and Huey Lewis really impressed me with his acting chops.
