The Vampire Diaries is a show you can sink your teeth into!
January 9th, 2010 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

The Vampire Diaries was the surprise hit of the fall for the The CW. It was the little show that debuted big and only got bigger. Today the cast and producers flew out from Atlanta to talk to the press at The CW’s The Critics Association Winter Press Tour Day.

Don’t believe everything you read on IMDB, the synopsis for the next episode is made up!

Ian Somerhalder thanks Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec for his role on TVD. He says he is having a blast doing this role.

Vicki is dead dead. Her family will deal with her death and maybe find out how she died. (I wonder what that means?)

Damon and Elana’s relationship will evolve because Stefan will not be there.

Paul Wesley is tough on himself when he gets something wrong, but in a cute way. Something we will hopefully see in the blooper reel!

Kevin Williamson says that this is the best looking show he has done as in the look of the show and not just the cast. They will stay in Atlanta if the show gets picked up for a second season because there budget is lower there. Atlanta let’s them do more for less.

Paul Wesley says when they are not working he is doing press and if he isn’t doing press he is talking Nina and Ian about work and he doesn’t have a problem with that.

Katherine not Elena will be kissing Damon in a upcoming episode. (Nina has a tough job.)

Ian and Paul wear the same clothes in their daily lives and it is by pure accident. On today’s panel they both are wearing a black suit with white button shirts. They looked like real life brothers and not two guys playing one on TV.

We will see why Damon and Stefan do not get along. (I can’t wait to see what will happen)

Stefan is going to do something that Damon is going to need to him help with. (I wonder what that means.)

The Vampire Diaries will be back next Thursday at 8p on The CW and we will get to understand more of what they previewed and I can’t wait to watch it all go down. This show gets better and better with watch episode and there have been times where I have sat on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happens next and what does happen is better than I ever thought. So check out the best new drama of the season…at least according to the Peoples Choice Awards and we know what we are talking about!

Expect Life UneXpected to be a hit
January 9th, 2010 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Next Monday The CW will premiere the most talked about new show of the mid-season Life UneXpected. The show was created by first time show runner, but a veteran of many great shows Liz Tigelaar. Liz is bundle of joy who deserves all the success for her upcoming show and with a resume that includes shows Dawson’s Creek, American Dreams and Brothers & Sisters to name a few you know she knows how to write a show with a heart. And the basis of Life UneXpected is close to her heart. Something she told us at The CW Winter Press Tour Day for The Critics Association.

Liz Tigelaar, the creator of the show, is adopted and since she was born in DC she thought her mom was Nancy Reagen. She says when she was a kid because she was adopted, she fantasized what she thought her family would be. On the show Lux finds out her mom is her fantasy mom and on the show she will have to deal with the fantasy of having her mom be this cool DJ, and the real woman behind it.

Liz says all of these characters are flawed. They are real. They do the right things for the wrong reason and wrong things for the right.

Liz says they are not trying to make foster care look bad, just Lux had a bad experience. We will see Lux’s BFF Tasha go in to a new foster care home. We also see the girls meet when they were 7.

Liz does not want the show to come off as fake. (Side note, it doesn’t in the first three episodes that I have seen.)

Due to the show Liz said she found both of her birth parents and she just met her mom. Her mom told her she is not a radio DJ.

It was important for Liz that Lux was in foster care. Liz said being adopted made her feel special and wanted and she didn’t want Lux to have that.

Shiri Appleby says that for her character, Lux (her daughter) is the stability that she needed. Shiri says she hasn’t lived in the same city for more than 5 months since she was in HS and this show giving her stability.

Kristoffer Polaha says the actors have input. Liz’s enthusiasm helps with the creativity of the show.

We will also get to see Kate and Nate’s family and we will see why they turned out the way they do.

Some of this porbably doesn’t make sense to you yet, but once you see the pilot recheck this post and you will understand it more. Life UneXpected is a feel good show that makes you want to watch every week because it is so real and because the writing is so fresh and the acting feels so natural. So make sure to watch it next Monday at 8p!!!

Miami Medical is coming to CBS on April 2nd
January 9th, 2010 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

On April 2nd CBS will be airing a new medical drama called Miami Medical and today the cast and the producers talked about the show at CBS’s The Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour Day. The latest Jerry Bruckheimer drama takes place in Miami and deals with traumas from the actual incident until the person goes home or doesn’t make it.
Here is what they had to say about the show.

The EP said they changed the title of Miami Trauma to Miami Medical because of Trauma. He then said that NBC’s Trauma should have been called EMTs because it is more about the EMTs than the Trauma.

The location of Miami will be a part of the show. One of the EPs said he experienced a real trauma and he understands what it is like. He said that you wake up and see the beauty of the sun in Miami, and would never expect that your life could be turned around in an instant with a trauma and you need the help.

Lana Parrilla said even though she is Puerto Rican she did not grow up speaking Spanish. Three years ago she started taking Spanish classes and that helps her for the role where she plays a woman who escaped Cuba when she was 5 years old with her family. We learn that some of her character’s family that escaped with her when she was 5 did not make it out alive and the family that did were her dad and grandfather who were both surgeons in Cuba. Growing up with them is what influenced her character to become a doctor.

Jeremy Northam was asked if Hugh Laurie has given him any advice to play the role because they are both English playing doctors in America. He said I don’t know Hugh Laurie. Great answer to a stupid question.

There will be sex on Miami Medical! Sex is always good!!! And since this show will be airing at 10p on Fridays, let’s hope they can push the envelope with it.

Episode 12 will be like 24 minus a clock where it will be close to real time.

All in all Miami Medical will be a great way to end the week, so make sure to check it out when it premieres on CBS at 10p on April 2nd!

Is Howie Mandel the new David Hasselhoff?
January 9th, 2010 under NBC. [ Comments: 1 ]

(photo from WireImage)

Earlier in the week it was announced that David Hasselhoff was hoff of America’s Got Talent. Well today Life & Style is reporting that Howie Mandel is replacing him as a judge on the show. I am kind of bummed that he is the one replacing him, not because I don’t think he will do a good job but because I wanted to have Paula Abdul judging a talent competition again. Plus she is more like David than Howie.
While this is still a rumor, hopefully NBC will confirm or deny this tomorrow in between all of the Leno/Conan questions at the TCA Winter Press Tour Day.

UPDATE: A spokesperson from NBC, who works on the show, says that they are not commenting on rumor.

Blake Lively destroys The Green Lantern
January 9th, 2010 under Blake Lively, Gossip Girl. [ Comments: none ]

(photo from WireImage)

Just when you thought that The Green Lantern was going to be a good movie because Ryan Reynolds was in the title role, comes word that Blake Lively has signed to play Carol Ferris. According to Heat Vision Carol, “who runs her father’s aerospace company and hires cocky test pilot Hal Jordan (Reynolds), who later becomes the intergalactic policeman Green Lantern. In the comics, the romance became complicated when an alien race bestowed her the power of a crystal called the Star Sapphire.” The role was written for someone older, but yet they cast the Gossip Girl star. I don’t get it because personally I find her voice like nails on a chalk board and her acting is one dimensional. But hey that is me and not the casting agents that keep casting her in roles she is too young to play.
