The first two hours of 24 begin tonight on Fox at 9p and then tomorrow 8p the next two play out. This season the show moves to NYC as Jack Bauer is trying to move back to LA. But just as he ready to be a a fulltime grandfather he gets sucked backed in to his old job with new faces. The first four hours are fast paced and just as thrilling as the first 7 days of the show, so you are not going to want to miss a second of 24! Especially since they added Freddie Prinze Jr to the show this year!
Craig Bierko has a brilliant idea for us to be able help the people of Haiti who suffering from the devastating effects of the 7.0 quake that happened on Wednesday. So many of us have to wanted to give money to help them, but financially we are trying to figure out how to do it. Well Craig came up with this genius idea and posted his plea on The Huffington Post that he titled “This Valentine’s Day, Let’s All Get Together and Make Love” and I thought it was so awesome that I had to share it with y’all and I hope you share it with others!
Last night I made a donation while watching CNN. A young girl had been trapped between two massive sheets of collapsed cement. She was terrified and the rescue workers kept her spirits high as they labored to free her, which they eventually did. Overcrowded conditions and the general mayhem of disaster complicated her delivery to a hospital and, by the time rescuers finally got her to a doctor the young girl had died.
My heart ached for this child – and it broke for her injured mother who was too weak to be told the news just yet.
I thought of my mother, my nieces, my beautiful girlfriend Meg and our dog Boo. I felt my heart swell to the point of bursting because all of the beautiful ladies in my life were healthy and out of harm’s way tonight.
And that’s when the ache in my heart became an idea.
Valentine’s Day is approaching – a day reserved for couples to celebrate their love for one another by giving flowers, candy, sharing a romantic dinner, exchanging gifts or spending a night in some cozy out of the way hotel.
I am suggesting we dedicate Valentine’s Day to those men and women who lost the love of their lives this week – or, right this moment, await news regarding a husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend or child.
I’m not talking about romance – I’m talking about love.
And I’m talking about money. The money you’d spend on the flowers, the candy, the dinner, the cozy out of the way hotel. That money.
Ladies, take your boyfriend or husband by the hand and tell him that instead of roses, candy and dinner, you prefer to celebrate the miracle of love this year by giving – together, as a couple.
Let’s unite our hearts – right now, today – and offer a piece of the love in our own lives to those who need it desperately.
Gay, straight, Republican, Democrat, high school sweethearts, elderly and middle-aged couples alike – let’s celebrate this Valentine’s Day early by making love now.
Ladies, you know that this will be a lot easier if it comes from you, not us. Let your man know you’d like to donate the money you’d spend on indulging romance – and offer it together as a gesture of gratefulness for your good fortune – and in the name of those who suffer alone in misery.
It is such a simple thing to do instead of spending at least $100 on your special person on February 14th, how about using that money to help send supplies to Haiti? I will imagine I had someone to spend money on for Valentine’s Day and use that to share the love with the Haitians.
BTW Craig Bierko was just seen on CBS’s hit show The Good Wife doing a phenomenal job and soon we can see him on the Emmy winning Damages on FX.

Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes have been out of the spotlight for a while, so much so that I forgot that I used to care about them. That was until they attended some post-Critics’ Movie Choice Awards party (where neither were nominated or were in a movie that was) and the cameras caught them faking, I mean, showing that they are still a couple. I guess being out of the limelight has led to some changes for both of them like Tom wearing his lifts and Katie dressing is something fashionable. What is up with that see-thru sweater dress? She doesn’t have a figure to show off what is between the holes and it definitely do anything for her. They look more like they are going to a funeral (maybe for their careers) than an awards show’s post-party.
Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep were both tied for best actress as last night’s Critics’ Choice Movie Awards and at first every thought there was going to be a rumble between the two when Sandra came on the stage and called bulls!it. But then Sandra went up to her co-winner and gave her big wet kiss on the lips.
Due that kiss Hollywood is now fast tracking a movie called The Blind Julia, Sandra plays a rich woman who takes in the down and out of her luck, Meryl, helps her to become a world famous chef and the two women become lovers and share a kiss that is so passionate that the CCMA give them both the Best Actress Award for the second year in a row. Expect to see it theaters this December just in time to be nominated for next year’s award’s show.
BTW you go Sandra Bullock! Hopefully this is the start of her winning all the awards for her brilliant job in The Blind Side. Who else didn’t tear up during her acceptance speech. This accolade is long overdue for her!
Another winner I want to post is Inglourious Basterds for Best Acting Ensemble! I love that Quentin Tarantino had to direct his actors (Eli Roth, Diane Kruger, Christoph Waltz and BJ Novack) to go up their to accept their award. Plus I loved when Eli Roth said, “I never thought I would say this in my life, but ‘Thank you critics.'” Mazel Tov Eli!
Before Lauren Graham was having men problems on Gilmore Girls, she was having them on Caroline in the City. The 28 year old looks the same now as she did on that 1995 episode, but with much better hair.
