According to WBBM, 1 high school in the Chicago area has 115 pregnant girls or new moms out of 800 girls who attending the school. Seriously? WTF? Have these girls and guys not heard of condoms? Seriously?
So WBBM interviews the principal and he seems to blame the girls’ home lives on the pregnancies and how their parents are not talking to them about sex. Yes that might play a part in it, but what about sexual education. Kids don’t always feel comfortable talking to parents about sex and when I was growing up we learned about sex ed in school. We were given condoms. Maybe if he gave out condoms at his school, they wouldn’t be building a day school for all these babies?
You know what Oprah Winfrey is in Chicago why doesn’t she take some of her millions and buy this school some condoms? And President Obama is from Chicago, he needs to overturn the abstinence-only plan that Bush put into place. Abstinence-only doesn’t work, look at Sarah Palin’s daughter and these 115 girls. Let’s be real kids have sex, but they have to be smart about it. I mean how many of us were virgins when we graduated HS, I wasn’t. But you have to be smart about it. Birth control isn’t 100% effective, but it is better than what those 115 girls were practicing,
Look I am not saying teens should have sex, but they should be prepared if they do make the choice. Because being a mom is not easy, but it is even harder when you are teen.
I know this is off-topic for this blog, but it is something I believe strongly about. So remember condoms are good, always have one that is not expired handy! I do!!!
Tonight is the fall season finale of Psych on USA at 10p and it is going out with a bang. The episode starts off with Shawn being shot and trapped in a trunk. He sends a message to Gus to help him out and now everyone is on the case to find him before its too late. The team split up, Juliette and Gus team up to investigate and a stranger pairing happens with Lassiter and Henry join forces. Henry will let us in on secret you never would’ve known about Lassiter and it will shock you.
It was fun to watch as everyone joins together to save Shawn and you get some interesting partnerings that really work well together. The thing that makes Psych work so well is the amazing chemistry of the cast and it still gels when they mix things up! So check out one of the best episodes ever of Psych tonight on USA at 10p! Plus you don’t want to miss the Lassiter reveal!!!
Did Nicole Richie and Joel Madden finally get married? According to OK! the parents of two tied the knot on Wednesday in an intimate ceremony after getting a marriage license last week.
A source said: “Nicole has never been in a rush to get married to Joel. She’s so happy with him and their little family that she didn’t feel the need to change the way things were between them.
“But when Adam died, she freaked out. She realised life is fragile and short. She doesn’t want to have any regrets at all, and she does want to be Joel’s wife.”
No word who was at the wedding (since their reps have yet to confirm the nuptials), but you have to think their two babies Harlow and Sparrow, her dad Lionel Richie and his twin brother Benji were all there. I will probably get this wrong, but I think these two will last. Amazing how much her life has changed for the better since being with him.
Ugly Betty is back for its 4th season tonight on ABC at 8p with a two hour premiere and it is too much. Two hours of Ugly Betty is beyond painful because its the same old episode but drawn out and you will be bored to tears by the time the credits. That is if you are still awake. I watched the show without commercials and anything that could distract me did.
Tonight’s episode starts off with Betty starting her new job as an assistant editor and of course her idea doesn’t go over well. So her co-workers try to redo it and yes Betty has to wind up saving the day when things come crashing down. Kristen Johnston guests stars as what Amanda’s life could be and OMG she is so annoying. Seriously I was so happy that AbFab didn’t get picked up because she would have overacted in it. Betty does get a makeover at the end of the episode and you won’t be able to really tell it is one.
Although Betty has a new job, it is the same old thing different episode. Everyone hates working with Betty and they make fun of the fact that she is unfashionable and want her to go away. Daniel is the wimpiest man and Betty has to pump it up. Amanda and Mark are bitchy as ever and are the same characters as always. Justin is still having problems being a teen and Hilda is trying to be his friend and not his mom. Wilhelmina Slater is still the best part of the show, but even she can’t save this sinking ship.
Ugly Betty was moved to Fridays and it is starting later than all the shows plus the premiere was a delayed a week, and all of that spells bad news for the show. And with an episode as painful as tonight’s this show will be lucky to make it to the end of the season.
