Before Ed O’Neill was Married…With Children in a Modern Family, he was a detective in Cruising. I know there isn’t much of him in that clip, but I enjoyed seeing the 33 year old actor with a full head of wavy hair in that 1980 movie.
So yesterday Maria Bello was on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and they were talking about her upcoming movie, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee. She tells him that her character does a drug called dextroamphetamine and he tells her that the band Dexy’s Midnight Runners is named after that drug. He says, “They were called Dexy’s Midnight Runners cause if you take Dexys, you’re going to be running at midnight.” I have loved the song Come On Eileen for like ever and I totally never like knew that is how they got their name!
So you might ask why post this because it is so random? Well I Tweeted about it, and the Tweet got a lot of attention so I thought for those of you who don’t do Twitter you would like to know this useless fact! I know I did! Plus one of my followers @xyzcat also thought the little tidbit was interesting and confirmed what Craig said. According to Child of the 1980’s, “The band was formed in 1978 by Kevin Rowland and Kevin Archer and took its name from a drug called Dexedrine, a brand of dextroamphetamine (try saying that three times fast) which gave you a massive boost of energy that allowed you to dance all night (where the Midnight Runners part of the name came from).”
So now take this little nugget of information, and dance like you are dexy to Come On Eileen!!! BTW now it makes so much sense why the beat of the song is the way it was…
Finally check out The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson tonight on CBS at 12:35a because he has on Wolfgang Puck and Robin Penn! Plus he might just explain another band’s name?
Jimmy Kimmel is going to be on The Bonnie Hunt Show today, but his interview was kept in the dark. As in before he came out, a fuse blew and the lights went out. When he sat down on the couch, he had a huge a$$ wire around his neck and he said it might’ve been his fault because he was charging his iPod and when he unplugged the cord the lights went out. But I liked his other explanation better at the end of the clip when he tells her, “You know, at my show we pay the bills.” Ouch, but funny!!!

The stars of Cabaret, Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey were reunited yesterday at the premiere of Liza’s At The Palace… and both of them looked as good as they did when they did the movie 37 years ago! Hopefully Hollywood won’t destroy that movie and remake it. Oh sh!t, I hope they don’t read this and think that is a good idea.
BTW here is them doing Money back in the 1972 classic movie that won them both Oscars!!!

Hulk Hogan has to hate us, why else would he pull down Ric Flair’s trunks? That was beyond nasty. You know my theory, why should I suffer alone when I see something as gross as that?
BTW why do I suddenly have a desire to go Vegan before Turkey Day tomorrow?
