BTWF roles: Sharon Gless on The Bob Newhart Show
August 5th, 2009 under Before They Were Famous, Bob Newhart, Queer As Folk, Sharon Gless and Tyne Daly. [ Comments: none ]

(starts at 15:48 in)

Before Sharon Gless was the mother of Michaels on Queer As Folk and Burn Notice, she was just a woman going on a date on The Bob Newhart Show. Wow how amazing does the 30 year old actress look with long hair in that 1975 episode?

Claudia Jordan at The Comedy Central Roast for Joan Rivers
August 5th, 2009 under The Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers. [ Comments: none ]

Comedy Central is going to roast Joan Rivers on Sunday at 10p, but before she got ripped a new one, one of her former-Celebrity Apprentice teammates, Claudia Jordan told me why she came out for Joan’s special night. For those of you who watched the show, you know that Joan and her didn’t get along at the end of Claudia’s time on the show, so it would make sense why the Deal or No Deal model would want to see Joan get roasted. What she told me about why she was there gave me more insight to what type of person she is. Claudia is obviously the bigger woman (and I am not talking height) when it comes to everything that went down since her time on the NBC reality show.
She also told me that even though Donald Trump fired her on the show, he hired to co-host the Miss Universe pageant on August 29th! You can also hear her on Fridays on The Foxx Hole with Jamie Foxx and on Mondays she has her show. Claudia won me over during this interview and I hope she does the same for you.
Watch for her in the audience this Sunday at 10p on The Comedy Central Roast for Joan Rivers. I promise you will be laughing you a$$ off because they really went off on Joan and everyone else that was there!!!

Nation’s Pride will be crowned in gloury on August 21st!
August 5th, 2009 under Eli Roth. [ Comments: none ]

On August 21st Nation’s Pride, the biggest Nazi proupaganda film in ouver 65 years will premiere at the Le Gamarr Theatre. Stolz Der Nation stars the extremely gourgeous German actor Fredrick Zoller and it is directed by the glourious Alois von Eichberg. There is so much poustive buzz about this mouvie that I read somewhere that Adoulf Hitler himself will even be at the big event!
OuK as you can tell by spelling errours, Nation’s Pride is the film within a film that is part of the Quentin Tarantino’s WWII epic Inglourious Basterds although he did not direct it, Eli Roth, who plays Donnie Donnowitz did. I have read in several interviews that he went crazy when he filmed it. Here is what the Jewish director, writer and actor told the MTV Movie Blog about it…

“Quentin had two shots that were very specific that he wanted to do – but he was like, “For the rest of it, I need footage of people shooting. It’s a guy in a bell-tower shooting 260 Americans. I need footage of people shooting!’ So I said okay,” Roth remembered. “We got a second camera, and in 2 days we did like 130 shots and Quentin was so happy he gave me a third day. We shot with the actor Daniel Bruhl, and put together this Nazi propaganda film…[as we shot] I was thinking ‘God, I didn’t think I could be more offensive after ‘Hostel 2,’ but how can I upset people more than that?’”
Remembering his direction techniques, Roth laughed. “I was going, ‘More swastikas! More swastikas!’
But as ironically over-the-top as the whole experience may have been, Roth has been wondering lately if he did too good a job on the mini-movie. “The first time we showed it to an audience [the actors] were in character, but the Germans were screaming ‘Heil Hitler!’ and ‘Kill the Jews!’ and it was terrifying,” he remembered. “We watched it over and over, and we were all friends and joking around by the end of it. But there was still something very powerful about that. I looked at Quentin and said, ‘What have I done?’”

What he did was just genius! I love the little featurettes that Eli has done in two of Tarantino’s flicks like this one and Thanksgiving that was featured before Death Proof. I can’t wait to see more of the propoganda film when Inglourious Basterds and Nation’s Pride come out on August 21st!
BTW am the only one who couldn’t take her eyes off of Daniel Bruhl even though he is playing a Nazi killing Americans? He so needs to have his own movie that is more than just a film within a film!
Back to Eli Roth, he will be on my favorite late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight on ABC at 12:05a and on Friday he will be screening his personal copy of Cabin Fever at HollyShorts. Tickets are still available for the cheap price of $10 at the HollyShorts site. BTW also on Friday and Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Quentin Tarantino will be on the show and I will be watching it in the green room downing some wine and good food!

Did Kate Gosselin call off the marriage in October?
August 5th, 2009 under DIscovery Networks/Discovery+. [ Comments: 2 ]

Jon Gosselin opened to In Touch Weekly and what he is saying sheds a whole new light on when and why his marriage to Kate ended. What is the biggest difference in your life now, compared to a year ago?

What is the biggest difference in your life now, compared to a year ago? Let’s go back to October of last year — that’s when all of this happened. Kate basically came to me out of the blue and said, “I am done. You are going to live your life, and I am going to live my life.” I was like, “What?” I didn’t really know what was going on. When she said that, I was really upset and nervous. Why did she want to break up? I think she initiated the split because she wanted a career. Maybe I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, and she was going to move on regardless. I said, “Are you sure about this?” Did you want to work it out? Yes, I asked, “What do I have to do to mend the relationship? What did I do wrong?” I was beating myself up about it. So I read a lot of books about personalities, like The Five Love Languages. Throughout the marriage, I felt like my personality had changed a lot. In December, I went to therapy. I asked Kate to come, but she didn’t want to. She said, “If you have a problem, go fix it.” When did you and Kate start living separate lives? We went to Utah on January 1. On January 12, she flew back with security and I stayed. That’s when I started to just hang out and meet people, and feel free. Not too many girls, just with my guy friends. I couldn’t do that for nine years. When I came back on the 17th, Kate and I weren’t talking. So I just said, “I’m moving out of the house,” and that was it. How are the kids handling the split and all of the drama? Even though they are young, it still hurts them. They can’t figure it out. They’re like, “Why aren’t they together? Why can’t you hug her?” The other day, Alexis said, “I want you and Mommy to be home together.” And it hurts because it’s not going to happen — and how do you explain that? I just let them know we love them no matter what. It’s hard. I feel like I failed them.

So according to him she called off the marriage almost a year and they have been living apart since January. So in other words that have been lying to us on Jon & Kate Plus 8 even longer than we thought they were. Do you believe him? BTW check out who he said was the first person he started dating after the split and who it was in this week's In Touch Weekly on stands now.

Did you have as much as the girls on America’s Got Talent?
August 5th, 2009 under America's Got Talent, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Last night we got to see the first round of live performance on America’s Got Talent and there were some $1 million performances that are worthy of having their own show in Vegas. I had a lot of fun watching Lake Houston Dance and Grandma Lee, but did they do enough to move on to the semi-finals? Find out tonight on NBC at 9p to see who will advance and who will go home. And as we wait to find out the results, the host’s (Nick Cannon) wife Mariah Carey will perform live on the show as well as the show’s biggest success story Terry Fator.
