Jamie Lynn Spears is a mother at the age of 17 and can kiss her youth goodbye. Jamie Lynn Spears had Maddie Briann today according to People.

"Just the family was there," says a source about the birth around 9:30 a.m. at a hospital in Mississippi, near her Louisiana hometown. "Everyone is healthy and happy."

Teenage pregnancies should not be glorified because teens are too young to be parents. Something that will be shown next week on NBC when The Baby Borrowers premieres on Wednesday at 9p. This is a show that everyone should watch and shows that being a parent as a teen or at any age is not an easy thing.

Here is a statement from the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy:

“Every child deserves a warm welcome and we hope that Jamie Lynn Spears’ new daughter, Maddie Briann, will be surrounded by much love, support and comfort. But the media frenzy that is sure to now erupt, as it did when this pregnancy was announced last December, provides every parent, teacher, media outlet and more a chance to state the truth: babies need and deserve adult parents who are committed to each other and to decades of being the best parents possible. Hundreds of thousands of teens and unmarried young adults get pregnant and become parents every single year, and few of them have Hollywood beginnings or endings. Getting pregnant and bearing children is one of the most important steps that any person ever takes, and it deserves careful planning, thought and consideration.”

Check them out for statistics on teen pregnancy and prevention. Condoms good!!!

UPDATE: NBC’s The Baby Borrowers sent a congrats note to the new teen mom Jamie Lynn Spears!!! Shame this show wasn’t on before she got pregnant. Hopefully The Baby Borrowers will prevent at least one more teen pregnancy if not more!

The N tries to make Queen Bees nice!!!
June 19th, 2008 under Nickelodeon. [ Comments: 1 ]

Seven queen bees think they’re competing to be the biggest diva, but they soon find out they’ve been sent to LA by their friends and family to get a mean-girl makeover. Whoever changes the most wins $25,000. But, for these bossy backstabbers, change isn’t easy. Dr. Michelle (The Tyra Banks Show) and America’s Top Model Yoanna House have their work cut out for them as wardens of the asylum.
This time, the mean girls get stung.

On July 11th at 9p, The N is trying something no other reality show has done. They are going to try to make 7 Queen Bees nice. Normally the shows want the Queen Bees to remain that way on the show, but not The N.
I so can’t wait for Queen Bee because any show that puts 7 Queen Bees in one house is going to be super hot! Plus I want to see if they will be able to work miracles with these 7 girls and how much they will change!

Regis Philbin can’t say Shanna Moakler’s name
June 19th, 2008 under CBS, Shanna Moakler. [ Comments: none ]

I just love that Regis Philbin messes up names on Live with Regis and Kelly all the time, but I thought that he would at least be able to get the names correct on Million Dollar Password.
BTW Steven Webber gets better with age!!!
So check out Million Dollar Password on CBS this Sunday at 8p and see if Regis will ever say Shanna Moakler’s name correctly before the credits roll.

Nicole Richie gets her shower curtain on!
June 19th, 2008 under Nicole Richie. [ Comments: none ]

I guess since yesterday Nicole Richie wore her bedroom curtains and you can't wear the same dress twice in a row she decided to wear her shower curtain instead. Seriously who dresses her because she wears some of the ugliest gowns on the red carpet.

Broadway’s Cry-Baby has something to cry about
June 19th, 2008 under Broadway. [ Comments: none ]

Cry-Baby The Musical will be closing after a little over 100 performances. According to Broadway.com the Tony nominated show will be closing on Sunday.
The producers of Cry-Baby hoped to equal the success of Waters' long-running hit Hairspray, but the new musical never caught fire at the box office in spite of edging out several big-budget shows for Tony recognition. It grossed $276,245 of a potential $1,243,000 at the 1,600 seat Marquis Theatre for the week ending June 15 and played to 64.42% of capacity. Javerbaum and Schlesinger's Tony-nominated score has not yet been preserved on an original cast album.
Cry-Baby may not have connected on the Broadway stage, but maybe it will have a shot when it goes on tour.
BTW hopefully with the failures of Cry-Baby and Young Frankenstein, Broadway will take note and stop turning movies into musicals!
