See You Next Tuesday Paris Hilton
June 22nd, 2007 under Paris Hilton. [ Comments: none ]

Paris Hilton will be released from prison on Tuesday according to People. Sgt. Duane Allen, Jr. said, "There was some confusion as to whether it would be Monday or Tuesday, and we just wanted to let people know what was happening." So there it is, Paris Hilton will be back in our lives full time on Tuesday.
But when she comes out it will be interesting to see who gets her first televised interview because according to TMZ NBC dropped the interview and Variety says that ABC passed on the interview. Here is a great opportunity for CBS to build Katie Couric's ratings and pay for the interview because they will get it back two-fold. Personally I would be OK if they all turned down because then maybe she will live up to all the promises she seems to be making in jail.
UPDATE: Larry King scored the first interview with Paris Hilton on Wednesday. I wonder how much CNN paid for it? Plus it will be a really soft interview especially since Variety reported that her family has to approve all the questions.

June 22nd, 2007 under Degrassi, Nickelodeon. [ Comments: none ]

As the audience of The N gets older, The N grows up with them and goes to college with The Best Years. The Best Years premieres next Friday at 8:30p with an hour long epsisode after an all new episode of Degrassi! One of the writers of Degrassi created The N’s newest amazing drama, so you know it is going to be good.
Here is a quick description of the show that will be enjoyed by people of all ages.

The Best Years follows orphaned and full-ride scholar, Samantha Best (Charity Shea, “Alpha Dog”) as she starts her freshman year at the prestigious Charles University in Massachusetts. Samantha has been shuffled through the foster care system her entire life and is finally looking forward to a future of new opportunities and friendships. She’ll have to contend with the ins and outs of college and mingle with a new world of ‘frenemies’ as she struggles to find her own identity. Along the way she will meet new roommate Kathryn Klarner, (Jennifer Miller) a rich socialite from one of the most prominent families in the mid-west, Dawn Vargas (Athena Karkanis) child actor who trades in Hollywood for college, and Devon Sylver, (Brandon Jay McLaren “She’s The Man”) a fellow scholarship recipient and star basketball player who has caught her eye. With her new dysfunctional family and a part-time job at Boston’s hot spot Colony, Samantha will find herself juggling a lot more than just academics.

If you are like me and can’t wait until June 29th to see The N’s latest hit then you can watch the first episode over at The N!
On another note Degrassi: The Next Generation will be back this fall with 24 episodes for it’s lucky seventh year!!!

The son of the man Tom Cruise is playing wants him to drop the movie

In Tom Cruise's next film he will be playing an assassin who was hired to kill Adolph Hitler, but if the  son of the real life assassin had his way he would like to hire some to kill Tom Cruise's movie. Berthold von Stauffenberg told the Daily Telegraph he does not like Cruise involvement with the Church of Scientology because he feels it is more a business than a church. He said “I hoped for a while that it was all just a publicity stunt by Mr Cruise.” But now that the movie is a reality here is how he thinks the movie will turn out, “It is sure to be crap. Of course, I could be wrong – I would like to be.” And considering the last few movies that Cruise has done, I don't think he is far off the mark. He then went on to say, “I am not saying that Cruise is a bad actor – I cannot judge that. But, in any case, I fear that it could turn into horrible kitsch.”  He concluded by saying that “He should keep his hands off my father. He should climb a mountain or go surfing in the Caribbean. I don't care, as long as he stays out of it.” Wow, can you say he really doesn't want Cruise to do this movie?

Did Chad Michael Murray jealously cost an actor his job on One Tree Hill?
June 22nd, 2007 under WB+UPN=CW. [ Comments: 11 ]

Page Six is reporting that Chad Michael Murray got so jealous of an actor flirting with his ex-wife Sophia Bush on the set of One Tree Hill that he got him fired. Which of course is ironic because he is engaged to an actress who was an extra on the show and is rumored to have had a fling with Paris Hilton on the House of Wax set?
Rumor has it chad was not with John Cates, who played his rival on the show. A friend of Cates said that, "Chad told producers, 'It's no more John Cates or no more Chad Michael Murray,' because he thought John and Sophia were flirting." Another insider said, "Chad was a terror to work with. Writers kept plotting him and John against each other, and Chad took it seriously. He told everyone on set he couldn't stand John, and finally producers wrote him off the show." Both Chad's people deny the story, but Warner Bros. who produce the show said, "Casting decisions are made by the studio, the network and producers. This guest star's story line was wrapped up, and production moved on." Hmmm sounds like they are hinting there might have been some rivalry  between the two. But then again I need my One Tree Hill drama because the show won't be back until mid-season.
