Big Brother back on CBS this summer |

|  "Big Brother" will be back for another round of real-people melodrama. CBS has greenlit production on an eighth season of the hit summer sudser, which has become a fixture on the net’s warm-weather sked. After pausing last year for an "all-star" edition featuring past contestants, skein will return to its normal "real" people format this year. Julie Chen is on board to once again host "Big Brother," which first debuted in 2000, weeks after "Survivor" launched. Allison Grodner Prods. will produce, in association with Endemol USA.

Jon Stewart celebrates Groundhog Day on Noggin’s Jack’s Big Music Show! |

It’s a star-studded lineup at Jack’s clubhouse, as Jon Stewart and Cheryl Hines visit musical puppets Jack, Mary and Mel this February on NOGGIN’s original hit series Jack’s Big Music Show. Stewart will play Groundhog News Network reporter Brunk Stinegrouber in “Groundhog Day,” which will premiere as a simulcast on NOGGIN* and Nick Jr. on Friday, February 2 (on Groundhog Day) at 12:00 p.m. (ET/PT). On Saturday, February 10 at 12:00 p.m. (ET/PT), NOGGIN, the commercial-free educational network from Nickelodeon, will debut Hines’ guest-starring role as professional dog stylist Sudsy Bubblestein in “Mel’s Bath Day.” The “Groundhog Day” episode will also feature an original music video collaboration by The Flaming Lips’ Steven Drozd and indie rocker and former Blue’s Clues star Steve Burns, entitled “I Hog The Ground (Groundhog Song).” On Sunday, February 3, the “Jack’s Super Swell Sing-Along” episode will feature a new music video by recording artist Lisa Loeb entitled “Jenny Jenkins.”
Those are pictures are way too cute. I don’t have any kids, but I want to watch those upcoming episodes! They really have some good names guest starring on the show like Jon Stewart, Cheryl Hines, Lisa Loeb and The Flaming Lips!
BTW if you don’t get Noggin, it is going to be simulcast on Nickelodeon!

The final Harry Potter books gets a release date |

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," the last of seven installments of the boy wizard's adventures, will be published July 21, author J.K. Rowling said Thursday. Rowling announced the publication date on her Web site. Bloomsbury, her British publisher, said it would publish a children's hardback edition, an adult hardback, a special gift edition and an audio book on the same day. Scholastic Children's Books, the U.S. publisher, said it would offer a hardback edition at a suggested retail price of $34.99, a deluxe edition at $65.00 and a reinforced library edition at $39.99. Bloomsbury noted that this year is the 10th anniversary of the publication of the first "Harry Potter" book in the phenomenally successful series. The "Potter" books have sold 325 million copies worldwide and been translated into 64 languages, Bloomsbury said.

Can you believe it has only been 10 years since the first book was released. What an accomplishment to have a book become that big of a classic so fast!
