TR Knight outs Isaiah Washington |
| February 19th, 2007 under Shonda Rhimes. [ Comments: none ]

| Grey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight admitted on Wednesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show that costar Isaiah Washington did, in fact, call him a “f@ggot” during an onset fight. It was reported in October that Washington used the slur against Knight in front of the cast and crew while arguing with fellow cast member Patrick Dempsey. “He referred to me as a f@ggot,” Knight confirmed on DeGeneres’ morning talk show. “Everyone heard it.” Knight has mainly been silent on the incident, but decided to set the record straight after Washington tried to deny the October episode in the Golden Globes press room Monday night. "I did not call T.R. a f@ggot," he said. "Never happened, never happened." After speaking in the press room, Washington denied the epithet again to Access Hollywood. "There is no way I could do anything so vile, and so horrible, not only to a castmate, but to a fellow human being," he said. "It did not happen.” But Knight tells another story on DeGeneres. The talk show host said Wednesday, “And then the other night at the Golden Globes I guess Isaiah Washington is starting up the whole thing up again which is kind of crazy…” ”Yeah, he denied that he said it (f@ggot),” Knight responded, “and I don’t know what to say about it but it’s pretty bad.” Washington’s press room denial also infuriated Grey’s cast member Katherine Heigl, who reproached her costar during an interview with Access Hollywood Monday night. "I’m going to be really honest right now, he needs to just not speak in public. Period. I’m sorry, that did not need to be said, I’m not okay with it." "I have no idea what it was, I just find it hurtful,” she told Access. “I don’t think he (Washington) means it the way he comes off… But, T.R. is my best friend. I will throw down for that kid. I will beat you up. I will use every ounce of energy I have to take you down if you hurt his feelings."
Us Weekly
Either Isaiah Washington is the biggest schmuck on TV or he was on something on Monday because his comments before and after were way beyond stupid. I am not defending him, but he obviously has issues, it is really sad.

Backstreet Boys back in the studio. |
| February 19th, 2007 under Backstreet Boys /Aaron Carter. [ Comments: 1 ]

| Following the departure of Kevin Richardson over the weekend, the Backstreet Boys are plowing ahead with sessions for their upcoming album, which member Brian Littrell says they hope to have out later this year.
"[The sessions] started yesterday, actually," Littrell said on Monday, less than 48 hours after the group announced that original member Richardson, 33, was leaving to pursue unspecified "other interests." Littrell said he and the group’s other members — Howie Dorough, Nick Carter and A.J. McLean — began work on the first two songs for the yet-untitled follow-up to last year’s Never Gone. "We’re in the process of trying to put this record together for a fourth-quarter release, so we’re excited about it."
"I was the first one in the studio just yesterday, actually," he continued, "working on Sunday, trying to get my vocals in, because in two days I have to head to Montreal and Toronto and start press and promotion for the Canadian campaign for my solo CD." Littrell issued a Christian-music album, Welcome Home, in early May.
Despite his excitement over getting to work on the Boys’ seventh album, Littrell said the departure of his cousin Richardson is taking its toll. "Personally, Kevin is my blood," he said. "Kevin got me in the group almost 14 years ago. I’m a little sad to see him leave, and I’m sure some of the fans are a little sad. But I’m very happy for him and very supportive of him personally and businesswise and I hope he’s successful in any endeavor that he plans on moving forward with his life."
Richardson, 33, hasn’t spoken about the other endeavors he wants to pursue outside the multiplatinum group, and Littrell didn’t shed much light on what the future holds for his cousin, either.
"During the Never Gone tour Kevin had kind of relayed his personal thoughts and his individual aspirations, personally and businesswise, things that he wants to further accomplish in his life," Littrell explained. "And he’s the oldest member of the group and he’s just at a different place in his life. There is no bad blood whatsoever."

Salma Hayek gets Penelope Cruz to do Ugly Betty |

| Salma Hayek has persuaded best pal Penelope Cruz to guest on an upcoming episode of her Golden Globe-winning TV comedy Ugly Betty. Hayek, who appears on the show as a vampish magazine writer, has been trying to find Cruz the right role since the show started last year. The actress, who is also a producer of the series, says, "We’re going to do something with her, but maybe later."
Starpulse
I am sorry but the show went from Golden Globe winner to schockly in one day. I mean concetrate on the storylines and not casting people like Katharine McPhee, Tim Gunn, Kathy Griffin and Penelope Cruz…I mean that was downfall for Will and Grace and countless other shows. That is a tactic failing shows use.

Who didn’t watch American Idol last night? |
| February 19th, 2007 under American Idol 6. [ Comments: none ]

| You know, that little TV show we like to watch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays just may become a hit. Preliminary Nielsen numbers indicate that the Idol premiere, the less-than-brilliant Minneapolis auditions, was watched by 37.3 million people. That’s an unbelievable number in this age of fragmented TV viewing, 300 channels, etc., etc. It also, if the final numbers confirm it, will be the second-most-watched Idol episode ever, bigger than last year’s final, second only to the 2003 Season 2 Ruben/Clay showdown.
Idol Chatter
Even though the numbers were beyond amazing, I thought it was one of the worst episodes ever. It was just blah, no one that was that good or that bad, you know.

NBC renews Heroes and three other shows |
| February 19th, 2007 under Heroes, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

| They’ve saved the cheerleader, and now "Heroes" will have a little longer to save the world. NBC has given the first-year hit an early pickup for the 2007-08 season, network chief Kevin Reilly told reporters Wednesday at the Television Critics Association press tour. Three other series — comedies "My Name Is Earl" and "The Office" and long-running drama "Law & Order: SVU" — also got the go-ahead for next season. "These four series represent some of the best of what we consider to be the ‘NBC brand’ of quality shows," Reilly says. "It’s a pleasure to give them an early renewal to develop more stories for next year, since we know they will remain both critical and commercial successes for a long time to come." None of the four pickups is much of a surprise. "Heroes," after all, is the top new show of the season in both viewers and the coveted adults 18-49 demographic, drawing better than 15 million viewers per week. "SVU" is NBC’s No. 2 drama at 12.9 million viewers per week, and "Earl" and "The Office" are both drawing solid numbers on Thursdays, particularly among younger viewers. " "Heroes," which returns from hiatus next week, has also added one more episode to its order for this season, bringing the total to 23.

Yay!!! I am so happy Heroes is coming back, I just hope it doesn’t go the same route as Lost. It will be interesting to see now that SVU is officially coming back if Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni will too?
