In the latest update on Danny DeVito and George Clooney’s carousing night out earlier this week – which resulted in DeVito’s sloshed appearance on Wednesday’s edition of ABC’s The View – Clooney says when he woke up the next morning he was still reeling from their "brutal night" before. "When’s the last time you got really drunk?" Matt Lauer asks PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive, in a Today show interview set to air Monday. "I mean, stumble down, fall on your face drunk?" "Umm … well … I was with um, an actor recently," replies Clooney, 45. "Big guy, little guy?" Lauer playfully presses. "Umm," says Clooney, "Big, big heart umm and ah we were doing shots of limoncello and that’s all I can really say on the subject" – though, he adds: "All I can remember." Continues Lauer: "This was Danny DeVito?! Who showed up on The View the next day and just seemed wrecked." Clooney concedes the point, adding that he was in similarly bad shape for his scheduled appearance on Live! With Regis & Kelly. During the ABC broadcast, DeVito, 62, slurred his words, told rambling stories and at one point sat on Rosie O’Donnell’s lap. After admitting he’d been out with Clooney all night, he said, "I knew it was the last seven limoncellos that was going to get me." As for just how much they really imbibed, "I got to the point where I was dumping the shots into, ah you know, a plant next to me and um, I don’t think … Danny saw me do that," Clooney concedes. When Lauer suggests that it was all "a calculated move" for Clooney to score at the bar with DeVito’s castoffs, the actor counters, "Well, the funniest thing was it was … we were just at a restaurant. It wasn’t like we were out drinking. We were at a restaurant, sitting down, drinking. I was in bed by 11:30 at night and I woke up at, you know, 7 (laughs) and I was still drunk."

Ruh-roh. Looks like the prospects of Six Degrees sticking around may have just become a little more dim. Sources tell me that one of the leading actresses was spotted yesterday auditioning for a new fall pilot that has neither "Six" nor "Degrees" in its title. According to ABC today, Six is still in production, and the network expects it to return in January.

When you hear an actor from an on-air TV show is auditioning for other shows…it is a sign that the show they were on is dead…most of the time.

Michael Richards has agreed to settle his dispute with the men he offended during his racist rant last month at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood. Richards and Gloria Allred, the lawyer for the two patrons, issued the following joint statement: "Michael Richards would like to apologize in person to the gentleman with whom he had the exchange in the club. After discussions with Gloria Allred, an attorney who represents the man and three others who were with him that night, Michael has agreed that they will all meet in the presence of a retired judge who will facilitate the meeting and help the parties resolve this matter. All concerned are hopeful that a face-to-face meeting will be constructive and begin the necessary process of healing and closure." No word on whether money will exchange hands.

I hope it is not about money, but you know it will be.
