Guns N’ Roses fire their opening act after one show
November 28th, 2006 under Axl Rose. [ Comments: none ]

Sounds like Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has dropped the axe on supporting act Eagles of Death Metal, who were slated to open for the band when they play MTS Centre next Tuesday. The hard-rockin’ Eagles, led by Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, have been dropped from the opening slot on the Gunners’ Chinese Democracy tour, following a poor reception at their first gig in Cleveland last Friday. According to music website Idolator (itself quoting Product Shop NYC), the Nov. 24 show at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland began with a half-hour set by Sebastian Bach, followed by the Eagles of Death Metal, who weren’t exactly warmly received by the crowd. "They got booed and jeered and completely bombed for a complete hour," reads the website. Following a performance by Suicide Girls burlesque troupe — then another two-hour wait — Rose and the most recent configuration of GN’R took to the stage. A few songs into their set, Rose quipped, "So, how’d you like the Pigeons of S– Metal? Don’t worry, that’s the last show they’re playing with us." A spokesman for the Eagles’ label confirmed that the band has, in fact, been taken off the tour. Any mention of the GN’R shows has been removed from the Eagles’ official website, and a number of sympathetic messages were left on the band’s MySpace page over the weekend. "Sorry to hear about (your) being dropped," reads a posting from Rocketsauce. "Axl doesn’t feel like being upstaged, I guess." The incident is the latest in the ongoing roller-coaster of lunacy that is the latest GN’R tour. Rose already canceled a show in Maine earlier this month after state officials told him the band couldn’t consume alcohol on stage. And even when he does end up performing, he hasn’t been going onstage until after midnight. An official comment from the Eagles of Death Metal camp is forthcoming, according to the label’s rep. At press time yesterday, there was no word on how the lineup change would affect next week’s local concert.

Jam!

I doubt they will find another opening act.

At least one hero will die on the next Heroes
November 28th, 2006 under Heroes. [ Comments: none ]

Tell me you heard it. Tell me you heard the words of the wise sage I like to call…NBC Promo Dude, who sent out this prophecy at the end of tonight’s episode of Heroes: "A Hero will be lost…And in a show known for its surprise endings, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet." Yee!! I sure hope you heard that warning, because they you’ll realize there are only six shopping days left to stock up on paper bags (for requisite hyperventilation) and adult diapers (um, in case an elderly relative should happen to visit) before said episode of "death" and "surprise" airs. ‘Cause let me tell you. Promo Dude is so not kidding. Not even a teensy weensy wittle bit. Reliable sources close to Heroes tell me that someone–a certain heroic someone–will indeed bite the dust in the next episode, which airs this very Monday. And hmm… wait a minute. Come to think of it, I’m pretty dang sure that two Heroes actually will die within the next few episodes. And producers are even planning a third! Talk about a body count. At this rate, the only character left at the end of the season will be Mr. Muggles, the Bennetts’ dog. Anyway, here’s a juicy little morsel of exclusive scoop that you can keep in mind when you discover which Heroes bite the dust in the next few episodes: One of the deceased was supposed to be on the show a while longer, but he or she ran into a few problems with his or her contract, and so this particular Hero is getting killed off six episodes earlier than originally planned. The storyline this insta-ousted character got a wee bit of a jumpstart, if you will, so buckle up and hold on to your couch cushions, ‘cause things are moving on fast foward. Believe you me.

Watch with Kristin

It better not be Hiro… Now I wonder who it will be? Claire’s friend is going to War Games 2, but he was not hero? Milo has Rocky, but he is too popular? Hmmm?

Anna Nicole Smith says she owns her house in the Bahamas
November 27th, 2006 under Anna Nicole Smith. [ Comments: none ]

You’ve heard the rumors that the embattled star and her partner HOWARD K. STERN lost power to their Bahamian home and then were evicted — tonight on ET we go inside their house for the truth. "It’s a big story, someone is trying to evict me," she says. "I own this house and I’m going to let the courts handle it." "We have the documents," Howard adds. "It will come out in court." ET traveled to the enclave last night where the Trim Spa success story set the record straight about reports that she’s been living in the dark. Upon ET’s arrival, the house was lit up and Anna Nicole even showed off her lighted tennis court. "I heard my electricity was off, but it isn’t," Anna Nicole says. "I’m not sure because the electricity was shut off for an hour one day, but I believe it was the town. Down here it goes out — not like in the U.S. I had a generator." While they say the rumors about their power being turned off are false, they do say that someone who is known to them is out to grab headlines. "There is someone who is trying to turn the power off, but again this is with the media, we’re reading that the power is off while it’s on," Howard says. "They want their names in the paper," Anna Nicole adds. "We know who the people are who are trying to shut off the electricity — they want their 15 minutes of fame."

She so lives in a ficitional world.
