HEATHER Mills can thank her ultra-rich Hollywood pals for her quality time in the Hamptons this past weekend – she had the use of a stunning oceanfront home in Amagansett and didn’t pay a dime for it, Page Six has learned.Earlier this week, it was reported that Mills was shelling out close to $80,000 for a weeklong Hamptons rental so she could be near Beatrice, her 2-year-old daughter with Paul McCartney.But in fact, McCartney’s soon-to-be-ex-wife had been in Los Angeles doing business last month when her close pal, producer-director Dennis Erdman, whose credits include "Gilmore Girls" and "Grosse Pointe," offered her use of the Amagansett home he shares with his boyfriend, Darren Star, creator of "Sex and the City," for the long Labor Day holiday."We are working on many animal campaigns together, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to further discuss some of our plans," Erdman, an avid animal rights campaigner, told Page Six.

Marcia Cross is pregnant with her first child, her publicist confirms.The Desperate Housewives actress, 44, wasted no time starting a family after exchanging "I do’s" with first husband, 48-year-old stockbroker Tom Mahoney, on June 24. She is due in April, when Housewives will be wrapping production on Season 3.Producers were still deciding whether to incorporate Cross’ pregnancy into the storyline. In the Oct. 1 show, the second episode of the new season, the actress’ character, uptight Bree, will wed Kyle MacLachlan’s mysterious and potentially dangerous Orson. Season 3 of ABC’s Desperate Housewives premieres Sept. 24.

The unbearable wait is over for Zoo Atlanta: Lun Lun the giant panda has delivered her first cub. The nearly furless baby, about the size of a stick of butter, was born just before 5 p.m. Wednesday.Early indications were that the cub, one of Panda keepers will remain on watch for as long as 24 hours to see if the new panda, which is estimated to weigh just 4 ounces, has a twin. Fifty percent of panda births result in twin cubs.If it survives, the new cub would be just the fifth to be born and raised successfully in a U.S. zoo.The historic birth represents a significant achievement for the critically endangered panda species and Zoo Atlanta, and ends years of disappointment over the inability of Lun Lun, 9, and the male Yang Yang to mate naturally and procreate.The baby’s sex is not known, and might not be for weeks, until Lun Lun (pronounced "loon loon") lets zookeepers get a look at it. Zoo policy is not to intervene in maternal care unless something goes wrong.It will be three to four months before the cub can be seen by the public.only a few ever to be born in the United States, is healthy and being cared for by its mother.

Kenan Thompson was doing a studio voiceover gig when his cell phone started lighting up.The first call came from his agent. The second one: the boss, Lorne Michaels, creator of "Saturday Night Live." Pay no attention, they told him, to published reports that had him being fired from the cast.It would have been a major shock, Thompson said "I left Lorne’s office three days earlier, and he said I was coming back," said Thompson, a Lake Las Vegas resident since 2004.Ten of the 17 cast members are leaving, including four whose firings could be announced this week. Two mainstays, Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch, are leaving to work on "30 Rock," a parody of ‘SNL.’Thompson said Darrell Hammond, impersonator extraordinaire, has been told "he can come back if he wants."
