Axl has words for Newcastle Guns n’ Roses have spoken out amid reports that their gig at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena last Wednesday (July 19) ended with the band being bottled off the stage by a booing crowd. The band, plus former member Izzy Stradlin, finished their set early after being overwhelmed by the volume of bottles that hit the stage. In an statement, Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose explained: "Getting hit wasn’t a big deal. We stopped the song and gave a warning. We came back and started the song over and completed it. We then said goodnight. The house lights went down and I got hit a second time, in the mouth, by a solid object thrown by someone in the audience""After having warned the crowd that we would leave, and having played more than two hours, we left the stage and called it a night with the full support of everyone in the band, out guests and Management."He added that his bandmates had supported the decision."Izzy (Stradlin) was the first to immediately support the decision verbally to me personally before I had physically left the stage are," he explained. "Tommy (Stinson-bass) and Frank (Ferrer- drums) came to my dressing room to say how much they appreciated the decision to not continue under those conditions, and express their support for not tolerating anyone throwing items at the stage with a negative intent. This has been G N’ R’s policy since playing Donnington in 1998."

Maybe if he didn’t delay the show so he could eat they wouldn’t have thrown the bottles? Stange concept.

Storm over her pictures and Tommy Lee? |
| July 24th, 2006 under Mötley Crüe, Rock Star: Supernova. [ Comments: none ]

If Tommy Lee was trolling the Internet for a certain babe the other night, he could have been stunted by his own show’s rules. The Motley Crue drummer, who recently got the news that ex-wife Pamela Anderson will marry Kid Rock, was so wowed by Storm Large, a contestant on his show "Rock Star: Supernova," he seemed to want her to star in his next honeymoon video."I want to see more of you," Lee oozed after the Amazonian singer performed "Just What I Needed" by The Cars in a bid to front Lee’s new band with former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and Gilby Clarke from Guns N’ Roses."I’ve got six letters for you," Large retorted without missing a beat. "G-O-O-G-L-E."But Lee and any viewers calling up the sinewy singer’s site with her band The Balls would see the following message: "Some of the links on this site are inactive during Storm’s appearance on ‘Rock Star’ per rule of the Powers-That-Be in Hollywood. I know, we’re as bummed as you are, but we cooperated."Lee, along with reality-show king Mark Burnett and co-host Dave Navarro, are executive producers of the CBS show."We don’t comment on individual contestants" so as not to show favoritism, said a spokesman for Lee. Large explained that all 16 contestants were asked to sequester their sites until the show was over – but lucky for Lee, the pink-tressed punkette has friends who posted their own sexy snaps of her."There are some pictures out there, but nothing gynecological," Large told our Deborah Newman. "Let me put it this way: My father is a very conservative teacher, an ex-Marine, and there’s nothing – no pictures out there – that I’d be afraid of him seeing."And what of the on-set chemistry with Lee?"[Tommy’s] a big flirt," Storm laughs. "He flirts with the girls. … He flirts with the furniture. He’s just like that. … Underneath all the tattoos and crazy behavior is a sweet, excited kid who loves music more than anything in the world." Still, she’s not counting on sex to sell herself."I want to be a singer. I do it with my gut, not my skin."And underneath that impressive 6-foot frame, Storm Large may just be the next rock star.

I do not know about you, but I would not want my dad to see a picture of me like that, would you?

Rick Springfeild update! |
| July 24th, 2006 under Rick Springfield. [ Comments: none ]

With big hits like "Jesse’s Girl" and "Don’t Talk to Strangers," RICK SPRINGFIELD rocked the ’80s with his pop hits and high-profile role on the daytime soap, "General Hospital." But Rick’s career may not have ever taken off if he hadn’t been able to overcome his problems during the teen years. The self-proclaimed "black sheep" of a military family, Rick tells ET, "I was a pretty dark teenager and was failing school, and hated school, and was having emotional problems, and basically in the end I got kicked out of high school. For me, music was my way out."That was then, this is now. Rick is back and better than ever on the 25th anniversary of "Jesse’s Girl" — and the ’80s are "totally" back in full swing as the singer is joining such ’80s staples as the BANGLES, BOW WOW WOW, EDDIE MONEY, A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS, LOVERBOY and SCANDAL on tour, in conjunction with a new set of CDs, in stores now. Each CD puts the spotlight on these influential artists with their biggest hits alongside some deeper album cuts. "It was probably the last safe decade, the last time anybody ever felt safe in the world," says Rick about the ’80s. "I think as the world gets more and more confusing, people go back to their roots. I think that’s why the nostalgia thing has been happening faster and faster." The "We Are the ’80s" U.S. Summer Tour kicked off July 8 in Ohio and travels across the nation with stopovers including Dallas, Boston and Denver, ending up in Hollywood, FL, on September 24. "I have a great fan base and I’ve been very attentive to my fan base, too," says Rick. "I’ve done a 180 on how I used to feel about them; I use to treat them very at arm’s length, and now I embrace it. I’m out there because of them."

Ghost Whisperer haunted? |
| July 23rd, 2006 under Jennifer Love Hewitt. [ Comments: none ]

The dead are spooking actress JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT and her GHOST WHISPERER cast and crew by making blink-and-you’ll-miss-them appearances in frames of film. Editors behind the scenes of the hit US TV show, in which the actress speaks to ghosts, have started spotting sinister images when they check back through film. Producers think that perhaps the dead ‘extras’ are trying to tell loved ones they’ve left behind they’re OK, and so they’ve posted the split-second cameos on the show’s official website. Love Hewitt says, "They (editors) find presences on film all the time. In one instance they froze the still and saw a person in the background who wasn’t in the frame before or the frame after." The actress admits her show has helped grieving parents and spouses come to terms with their loss – and realise their dead loved ones are never too far away from them. She adds, "I was talking to a fan and she told me how her and her husband always sit down to have dinner together and watch the show and hold hands. "It wasn’t until the end of the conversation that I realised that the woman’s husband was dead."

When they re-air the two part season finale make sure to watch it. And make sure you have to tissues on hand because you will cry like a baby. I do not know anyone who didn’t.
