Sabrina Carpenter was ready for her closeup at the Met Gala yesterday. The singer wore a custom-made Dior gown made out of filmstrips from the 1954 movie Sabrina, which starred Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, and William Holden. The film was about a woman in a love triangle with two brothers.
Carpenter wrote, “All my love to Jonathan Anderson, @jaredellner, the incredible team at Dior that brought this intricate vision to life, and on Audrey’s birthday! film is art and one of my favorite kinds!”
The floor-length gown dazzled with black film strips and accented with rhinestones; the combo made her the Espresso singer, the Belle of the Ball, just like Sabrina in the movie! Thus, making the Girl Meets World star look just like the movie star Hepburn was when she enchanted everyone on red carpets.
Sabrina is a beautiful film. However, I prefer the remake with Julia Ormond, Harrison Ford, and Greg Kinnear. If you can find either version on a streaming service, they are worth a watch.
