Today was the final World Cup game for 2026 in the United States, and FIFA put on a halftime show that scored a GOAL!
Madonna started off the spectacular from behind the scenes with her song Music. When she made it onto the field, she handed things off to Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel and Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. If that wasn’t Dynamite enough for you, it was time for BTS.
Where do you go from there? To Ted Lasso and Coach Beard giving an inspirational message to us and to Justin Bieber, who responded by singing Everything Hallelujah with just a guitar.
Now, it was time to get our hips shaking with Shakira and Burna Boy’s Dai Dai.
And to close that magnificent halftime show, The P.S. 22 Chorus sang about Love with Coldplay.
And that is how you do a halftime show that represents the world with performers from different countries, including Canada, Korea, and Staten Island.

Craig Melvin has not had the easiest week (after nearly being attacked by a strange man on the set yesterday), so he needed a good laugh. And today he got that much-needed chuckle on Today!
What made the anchor laugh? A story about a pigeon that was given oxygen after suffering from smoke inhalation. He could not stop giggling as he watched the video.
The story was not that funny, but his laugh is. Hopefully, he will do more of it during the NBC morning news show.
