Tootsie Rolls get into the Fall spirit
September 10th, 2024 under Junk Food. [ Comments: none ]

Ever since we were kids, Tootsie Rolls have been a big part of the Halloween season. Do you ever remember going trick-or-treating and not getting at least one of the chewy candy?

Therefore, it makes sense that Tootsie Roll would get into the Fall flavor business. So this year, they are releasing a bag of Harvest Chews that are filled with candies that taste like Pumpkin Spice, Caramel Apple, Sweet Cinnamon, and Candy Corn. They had me at Pumpkin Spice but lost me at Candy Corn.

Are you going to run out and buy a bag? Then, you can give the trick-or-treaters the flavors you don’t like! Tis the season to dump the candy you don’t like on unsuspecting Elsas and Harry Potter.

Saturday Night Live loses another one, and gains three
September 10th, 2024 under Saturday Night Live. [ Comments: none ]

We are 18 days away from the start of Saturday Night Live’s 50th season on NBC. And yesterday we found out that Chloe Troast will not be part of the late night variety show.

She wrote, “Unfortunately i was not asked back to SNL this season. I wish i was going back to be with all the amazing friends i made there, it truly felt like home. But it wasn’t in the cards.” The comedian joined SNL last year.

She is the third Not Ready for Primetime Player who is not returning this season. Punkie Johnson and Molly Kearney are also departing the series.

The news isn’t all bad over at 30 Rock. Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim, and Jane Wickline will be joining the cast later this month.

The Apprentice is The Joker’s true story
September 10th, 2024 under Donald Trump, Sebastian Stan. [ Comments: none ]

Today, we finally got the trailer for The Apprentice, which is loosely based on the life of young Donald Trump. As the trailer says, this is a supervillain’s origin story, and we know that he grew up to be one. Because we are living in his Gotham City, and I can’t wait to be in an alternate universe without him.

As someone who grew up in NYC, I watched this play out in real time. Hopefully, those who worship him will see this and be like we have been bamboozled. We just have to lie to them and tell them that it is his biopic and not an unauthorized biography. They won’t know the differece.

Now, let’s talk about Sebastian Stan. He is one of the greats of his generation. But I don’t believe him as Trump. He looks the role. He just doesn’t play it as him. But then again, who would want that part? Donald is not cool like The Joker, Khan, or Loki.

The Apprentice hits theaters on October 11th. Are you going to vote to see it?

Flavor Flav almost hurt someone at the NYSE’s Closing Bell
September 9th, 2024 under Flavor Flav. [ Comments: none ]

Today, the New York Stock Exchange asked U.S. Women’s Water Polo team member Ashleigh Johnson, Team USA goalkeeper and two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, and Flavor Flav, who helped finance their trip to Paris, to ring the Closing Bell.

Although I don’t know why they said ring when the Rapper has to hit it with a mallet, and that is where his problems began.

As Foofy went to hit it from above the NYSE, the mallet fell out of his hands and down onto the stockbrokers. But wait, it gets worse for him. A man wearing a Viking hat like Flav’s signature one threw it up to him, but he dropped it. Luckily, he caught it on the second try.

Then, it was time for him to hit the closing bell, and it took three times before he got it right.

Personally, I blame the organizers at the NYSE. Flavor Flav knows how to make time, so they should have asked him to do the opening bell. He doesn’t know how to end it. But at least he tried!

How did the Public Enemy singer react to it all? He wrote, “OOPS. My bad. ”
