In 1965, Barbara Eden’s life changed forever when I Dream of Jeannie debuted on television. Since then, the comedy about a genie who is released by an astronaut and they fall in love, has never left our TV sets.
On December 2. 1969, Jeannie (Barbara Eden) and Major Nelson (Larry Hagman) got married. Five months later, NBC divorced themselves from the show. That is when we learned that when the “are they or aren’t they” couples get married, the show barely makes it past the honeymoon stage, like Who’s the Boss, The Nanny, and Castle, to name a few.
So, with that legacy, does Eden think they made the right to marry them off? Last week, when she was at The Hollywood Show, she was asked that very question. “No, they should’ve married. Never.” Then she explained, “She wasn’t human. I mean, come on. She was an entity [?]. And that was part of the funny part of the show, was that she thought that she could just be a human. And he knew she wasn’t. Then they just made her a housewife. She wasn’t a housewife.”
I understand what she is saying, but as a kid, I didn’t care about that. As an adult, I still don’t care about the reality of it all. Do you?
Now, let’s talk about the 92-year-old actress. What was in Jeannie’s bottle? She still looks like she did on the show. She is still just as gorgeous!
In the ’60s, we had the Rat Back. The ’80s were about the Brat Pack. Twenty years after that, we got to know Frat Pack. And now it is all about the S.A.T. (Seniors Acting Terribly) Pack.
Some of the S.A.T. Pack movies are 80 For Brady, Book Club, Summer Camp, Poms, and Going In Style. On July 26th, Susan Sarandon, Bette Midler, Megan Mullally, and Sheryl Lee Ralph will star in The Fabulous Four.
The film follows three life-long friends (Sarandon, Mullally, and Ralph) who travel to Key West, Florida to be bridesmaids in a surprise wedding of their college girlfriend Marilyn (Midler). Once there, sisterhoods are rekindled, the past rises up again in all its glory, and there are enough sparks, drinks and romance to change all their lives in ways they never expected.
As someone who loves Pack movies, I can’t wait to see this movie because it is good fun and future goals.
Watching someone exercise is normally not a turn-on. However, when Lenny Kravitz, 60, doing it is erotic.
Case in point. Here he is, jumping rope shirtless, and I can’t stop watching, especially after I cast it to my 54″ television. It is hypnotizing and erotic.
Movie studios sometimes use Jeopardy to promote their movies. On Friday, the game show had a category called Emotions, and Tony Hale, who stars as Fear in Inside Out 2, pretaped the clues for it because the film is about the emotions that live inside of us.
Therefore, that promotion with Disney and Pixar is as intelligent as the contestants on Jeopardy!
Inside Out 2 is out now, and I am going to see it on Wednesday with my teenage nieces. Let the fun times begin after the trailer!
