Weird Al Yankovic joins Weezer to do Toto’s Africa
August 9th, 2018 under Weezer, Weird Al Yankovic. [ Comments: none ]

Weezer recently released Toto’s 1983 hit Africa and took it #1 on the Billboard Alternative charts this week. In turn, Toto is releasing Weezer’s 2001 hit Hash Pipe tomorrow. Got it?

Here is another update to the musical story. Yesterday, while Weezer was playing Los Angeles, Weird Al Yankovic and his accordion joined the band on stage to sing Africa along with Rivers Cuomo. Who knew you could do a thrashing rock solo with accordion, but turns out you can.

This update on the update is so bitchin’, I think they should release it. Then at some point, Weird Al needs to meet up with Toto on tour and do Hash Pipe with them. Especially, since Toto gave this review the Weirdzer cover, “Nicely done Al!”

Weird Al Yankovic turns Hamilton into Polka
March 2nd, 2018 under Lin-Manuel Miranda, Weird Al Yankovic. [ Comments: none ]

We all know all the music to Hamilton as is, but Weird Al Yankovic changed it up. He gave it his own special feel and that means Polka. The rap musical sounds nothing like you are used to, and yet it strangely works. Coming to Broadway in 2020, Polkaton.

Weird Al Yankovich can blend his type of humor anywhere!
December 27th, 2017 under Weird Al Yankovic. [ Comments: none ]

Weird Al Yankovic is funny wherever he goes, even if he goes to an Amish Paradise. The singer is home in Hawaii enjoying some much needed time off and he saw a sign. A sign that inspired him to grab an electric blender and stand in front of it. What was that sign? The yellow triangle reads, “NO OUTLET.”

Who wants to tell him that is not what it means? Although, you never know anymore these days.

Has Weird Al Yankovic retired from music?
June 26th, 2017 under Weird Al Yankovic. [ Comments: none ]

About three years ago, Weird Al Yankovic had his first #1 album with Mandatory Fun and sounds like he is ready change careers after that accomplishment. After the singer played in a Celebrity Baseball game over the weekend, he declared on Instagram, “Now that I’ve fulfilled my record contract, I’ve decided to quit the music biz and go into professional sports full-time. Hope that was the right call. #BigSlickKC.”

Is it the right call? No! He will strike out if he does. If he wants to score a touchdown on the field, then he should sing his tune Sports Song until he is sick of sports. Otherwise he is committing more than Word Crimes, he will be committing a crime against nature of music. Artists are flattered to have him rework their chart toppers and us fans look forward to it.

Do you think he made the right call or did he screw it up like most referees do?
