Believe it or not, Weezer is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. However, yesterday Rivers Cuomo made his way in.
Not as in inducted, but he visited the museum in Cleveland. And the singer, who sang Buddy Holly, got to hold Buddy Holly’s high school diploma.
Hopefully, someday he will hold his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Award there.
I don’t know why I am saying hopefully because Weezer will be inducted at some point because they were one of the first Emo Rockers to break out on the scene and inspired so many musicians.
The Hall of Fame has admitted much lesser artists.

There are a lot of great songs from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Jesus Christ Superstar, and the one I sing most is I Don’t Know How to Love Him. My favorite version belongs to Yvonne Elliman, who sang it in the movie.
Today, I finally heard a cover that is now my second favorite, and it wasn’t even sung by a female. It is actually performed by Rivers Cuomo. An interesting choice for the Weezer singer. So much so, I wonder if there is a deeper meaning to it. Either way, it is very powerful for him to sing a song by the most famous prostitute to the son of Gd.

This Sunday at 8p on Fox, The Simpsons’ theme song is going to sound a little bit different. That is because Weezer is going to perform it.
Not only that, but they are also going to play a Weezer cover band called Sailor’s Delight on the episode. Sailor’s Delight is going to perform songs from the band’s Black Album and debut a new tune from their upcoming CD Van Weezer.
I hope that record is also the Yellow Album in honor of them getting Simpsonfied.

Weezer recently released the Teal album which only has covers on it. One of the songs they chose to sing is Tears For Fears’ Everybody Wants to Rule the World. Yesterday when Rivers Cuomo and the band were asked to do Jimmy Kimmel Live they asked Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal to join them. Since the duo just wowed at Coachella.
Both bands started the 1985 tune out together, then the lead singers alternated verses and finally, they all concluded the song as one. Personally, I think they need to release that version of the single too. Smith and Cuomo’s voices are so beautiful together. Doesn’t make you think they can rule the World together.
