Last Man Standing turns 150, The Cool Kids causes more mayhem
April 19th, 2019 under David Alan Grier, Leslie Jordan, Tim Allen, Vicki Lawrence. [ Comments: none ]

There was a time that it looked like Last Man Standing was not going to have a 150th episode because ABC cancelled it after 130 episodes. Then, a year later, Fox resurrected the comedy and tonight at 8p, it will celebrate its 150th episode!

Mandy (Molly McCock) is looking for an easy way to get her fashion career started, but her dad (Tim Allen) doesn’t think she knows what she is doing. Therefore, he takes her to his job at the Outdoor Man to meet a businesswoman (Melissa Peterman). He thinks she will shun his daughter, but the opposite happens. What is Mike going to do sabotage his daughter’s career?

Then at 8:30p, it is time for The Cool Kids to celebrate its 20th episode. Sid (Leslie Jordan) is avoiding his boyfriend (Jere Burns) because he thinks he is going to propose to him.

Margaret (Vicki Lawrence) on the other hand is going out with a Harvard man (Robert Pine) because she told him she went to Yale. Will he find out her secret?

Finally, Hank (David Alan Grier) is waiting for the results of his mole removal. Since the doctor did not call him back before 5p on Friday, he is convinced that he is dying. Charlie (Martin Mull) convinces him to break into their doctor’s office to get the results. What could go wrong besides everything?

All of this leads to a hilarious final moment that ties it all together. While The Cool Kids started off kind of slow, the show has really found its groove to be on the funniest on TV this season.

The Cool Kids is highlarious, Doom Patrol is theraputic
March 29th, 2019 under David Alan Grier, Leslie Jordan, Vicki Lawrence. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight’s episode of The Cool Kids on Fox at 8:30p is the show’s best one yet. And there have been plenty of greats ones.

Sid’s (Leslie Jordan) ex-wife (Jennifer Coolidge) comes to visit him and to meet his new boyfriend John (Jere Burns). Is she bitter that he lied to her during all of those years they were married?

Then Margaret (Vicki Lawrence) and Charlie (Martin Mull) are all excited to see Fleetwood Mac, but Hank (David Alan Grier) has the keys to the van. He wants to go to Costco, and nothing will stop him. Therefore, if they agree to go to Costco with him, he will take them to the concert. But there are rules, so many rules. Good thing Charlie has a bag full of edible Gummy Bears. Now you know why I said this episode is highlarious!

Over on DC Universe, Doom Patrol is back with another super episode.

The episode starts out with Cliff (Brendan Fraser) still messed up after finding out what is up with his daughter now. Therefore, he is still very upset about that and that is making him crazy. Cyborg (Joivan Wade) decides to help him and holds a group therapy session with all of the Doom Patrol members.

What does therapy start with? Your childhood! In this episode, we get to see what they were all like as children and how it shaped them to become the adults that they are today. We also learn what year they were kids and that gives us more of a perspective of how old they are.

Not only that, they all have major breakthroughs. What and how it will change them? Well, you just have to watch and see in the best superhero show on television. This is not like all those other Marvel and DC shows, it is so much better.

Has Vicki Lawrence gone grey?
February 1st, 2019 under Vicki Lawrence. [ Comments: 1 ]

Ever since we got to know Vicki Lawrence, when she was just 18 on The Carol Burnett Show, we have known her to be a fiery redhead. Except, of course, when she was playing Mama Harper.

That was then, what about now? She has been a ginger on The Cool Kids all season long, but yesterday she shared a photo from the set with short white hair. Is this her natural do? Nope, it is for an upcoming episode and she will be rocking her co-star Leslie Jordan’s look. Why? Well, we will have to keep tuning into Fox every Friday at 8:30p to find out.

After a few weeks off, Last Man Standing, The Cool Kids and Hell’s Kitchen are all back with new episodes on Fox tonight at 8p.

The night starts off with Kyle (Christoph Sanders) being fired from his job in personnel. Mike (Tim Allen) does not want his son in law to be out of work, so he gives him a job in human resources.

Before he does that, he asks his daughter, Mandy (Molly McCook) about it. She tells her dad that Kyle is not very confident and losing another job might break him.

Therefore, Mike will do everything he can to make sure he does not fail. Which might be hard to do because the first thing Kyle has to deal with at his new job is handle a complaint brought against Mike by Chuck (Jonathan Adams) and Joe (Jay Leno). I don’t think Mike will like that? Do you?

Then at 8:30p on The Cool Kids, Hank (David Alan Grier) is dating a much younger woman and Margaret (Vicki Lawrence) thinks the 45-year-old is only after his money. Causing a big rift between the two friends.

Margaret recruits Sid (Leslie Jordan) and Chuck (Martin Mull) to expose his girlfriend’s true intentions. What could possibly go wrong? Oh wait, all of their schemes get them into trouble and tonight is no different.

If you are not watching this show, then you are missing out on comedy that makes you laugh until you need Depends!

Then at 9p, it is time for Gordon Ramsay’s daughter’s Sweet Sixteen. Tilly decides to have it at Hell’s Kitchen.

The chefs are tasked with coming up with the items that will be on the menu. They make her different choices to choose from and she will decide what will be made for the party.

Once the menu is place, it is time for one team to celebrate and the other one to set up for the party. Tilly asks her dad for one thing and that is to be on his best behavior.

What do you think is more likely to happen? Both teams will have a perfect service or Ramsay not losing his temper? You will just have to watch to find out.

Carol Burnett and her Mama
December 3rd, 2018 under Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence. [ Comments: none ]

It has been over 50 years since Vicki Lawrence wrote Carol Burnett and said she could play her sister. The letter worked because she got the job doing just that and eventually played her mother on Mama’s Family.

Even though it has been a half-century since they first met, the two of them are still friends and hang out. Having a friendship that most of us which we could have.

They might not have born as sisters, but they have become just that over all of these years.
