In the two-episode (11/15 and 11/16) story arc, Marlena Black (Deidre Hall) is lost in the snowy wilderness and is startled by a mysterious man carrying an ax! She learns it’s none other than Smokey Robinson who just so happens to be vacationing at a secluded cabin nearby. He rescues her from the cold and brings her back to his place to recover in front of a warm fire and calls the authorities. Later, John (Drake Hogestyn) tracks Marlena down at the cabin and Smokey gives an impromptu performance for the reunited couple singing "I Love Your Face."
Looks like a resurgence of singers performing on Soap Operas which is a good thing!

How cool is it that on the 25th anniversary of the biggest soap wedding in history, General Hospital will have Luke and Laura renew their vows! I cannot wait to see the wedding because these pictures make it look beautiful and romantic. As a longtime viewer of CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful, I have always enjoyed Susan Flannery as feisty matriarch Stephanie Douglas Forrester. But I’ve always wondered why we’ve never met anyone from Stephanie’s family, the Douglases. We do know they’re wealthy, since Steph’s father gave her and Eric (John McCook) the money to found their fashion house, Forrester Creations. We know little else… but that’s all about to change. B&B has cast Betty White — she of The Golden Girls and Mary Tyler Moore Show fame — as Stephanie’s estranged mother, Ann Douglas. Alley Mills — that’s Fred Savage’s mom from The Wonder Years! — has also been cast as Stephanie’s sister, Pamela Douglas. White and Mills begin their limited run on Friday, Dec. 1, when Steph reveals that her mother and sister are alive. She’ll also explain why she has distanced herself from them all these years — it’s not pretty. As much as I adored White as Rose on Golden Girls, I just looove it when she plays bitchy. Remember her as the deliciously nasty Sue Ann on MTM? BTW, this isn’t White’s first soap-opera cameo. She briefly appeared on Another World and Santa Barbara back in the ’80s.

Soap star Julia Barr — who has played Brooke English on All My Children since 1976 — is choosing to depart the ABC sudser when her contract expires in December. It seems almost superfluous to report this, since the two-time Daytime Emmy winner is so underused that AMC’s viewers barely ever see her onscreen anyway. Barr couldn’t resist taking a parting shot at AMC in a statement to the press. "I am so proud to have been a part of a show that was once a television icon," she said. "I want the fans to know how much I truly appreciate all of their love, support, loyalty and enthusiasm over the years." A show that was once a television icon? Oh no she di’int. Oh yes, she did.

I have to admit she is right AMC is not the same soap it once was. Hopefully she will land another soap soon!

The opening of Neil’s new jazz club, Indigo, may have been Aaron Neville’s first gig in daytime, but the R&B legend is no stranger to Genoa City. "I work my schedule around THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS," Neville shares. "No interviews when Y&R is on! Everyone respects that, so they don’t mess with me at the wrong time. They leave me alone. I also buy the magazines and get the heads-up on what’s happening. When I can’t watch, my sister, my wife and my daughter tape it for me and give me the lowdown. ‘What is Victor up to?’" Just like his pal Aretha Franklin, another outspoken Y&R fan. "We talked about the show when we did the national anthem for the Super Bowl [XL, in February]," he confirms. "You have to talk Y&R, you know!" Needless to say, Neville was thrilled when he was offered a chance to perform at the Oct. 27 opening of Indigo. "I have a record out, Bring It on Home… The Soul Classics, and I was invited to come on, so it worked out real cool," he says. "I played a couple songs ("Stand by Me" and "Ain’t No Sunshine") from the album." And with the cast piling onto set to hear the legend perform, Neville got to hobnob with Genoa City locals. "I was in awe, looking at all my favorite characters," he admits. "Eric (Braeden, Victor) was cool, man. Just like I pictured. I’m trying to figure out where [this epilepsy storyline is] going to end up. He’s got to come to his senses! He’s ruthless on the show, but [everyone I met here] is nice. "

Donny Osmond will guest star on ABC’s All My Children. He will play himself in scenes with Erica Kane (Susan Lucci), as she celebrates the second season premiere of "New Beginnings," the fictitious talk show within the show.
CLAY AIKEN ON DAYS OF OUR LIVES via People
Claymates will get a special Christmas present this year: Clay Aiken will be appearing on the NBC daytime drama Days of our Lives as himself, PEOPLE has learned exclusively. On the show, the American Idol phenomenon will perform "Everything I Have," a song from his new album, as part of a private concert for Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) in the local Salem club called Dune.
I can’t wait to see Clay sing to Patch and Kayla! I bet it will be so romantic and sweet!
